Hi Hilaire, what you are describing is moving a class from a package tag to another package tag in the same package. And you are manipulating directly the RPackageOrganizer for that. As RPackage was designed, to avoid infinite recursion, some operations apply only onto the RPackageOrganizer itself and do not change system categories, and, as such, are not be used directly. It is wiser to do the change via the system categories, and RPackage will pick it up correctly. You will also benefit from a proper system announcements as well. This should work: org := (RPackageOrganizer default packageNamed: 'MyPackage'). tag := org addClassTag: #Classes. org definedClasses do: [ :aClass | aClass category: tag categoryName ]. No, I mean #definedClasses also returns the traits of the package, then requesting instVar to those traits seems to brake things, but I did not investigated further as I bypassed the problem by discarding Traits. Hello, I want to move class from package "MyPackage-subPackage" to "MyPackage-Classes" with the code bellow: org := (RPackageOrganizer default packageNamed: 'MyPackage'). org addClassTag: #Classes. org definedClasses do: [ :aClass | |tag| tag := org classTagForClass: aClass. org addClassDefinition: aClass toClassTag: #Classes. org removeClassDefinition: aClass fromClassTag: tag name. ]. It produces this result when browsed with Nautilus, but the class definition still show the old package: Object subclass: #MyClass instanceVariableNames: '' classVariableNames: '' package: 'MyPackage-subPackage' Therefore when saving the package the old package is still represented. Cheers, Offray [*] Is really sad that Google changed the rules for the GSoC on the run, precluding participation PhD students who, like me, proposed their own research project for GSoC, under the assumption that that would give us double funding for our research (!). In Latin America is not uncommon to have zero funding and make our PhD self funded (like in my case). But Google, it its "infinite wisdom" thought that knows better that the organizations it trusted to run the GSoC and said that if organization choose something different to Googles expectations, their future selection for funding will be in danger... which tells about the "Google way" (TM) of trust and support, at least for the GSoC. This is my last year as a student, so I will not have the mentoring that would helped me a lot in improving my code and skills... :-/. Anyway, community is still here and life goes on.

Hi, The code bellow should move all methods to a 'code' protocol. It works on some classes but not with all. In the later it results in a "no message" protocol. I can't find a reproductible case on the system classe, it may break in a class, then on a retry may not break on the same class. However applying twice the code bellow to the same class result in a no message protocol every time "Buggy" org := MyClass organization protocolOrganizer. org addProtocolNamed: 'code'. org allProtocols do: [:aProtocol | org moveMethodsFrom: aProtocol name to: 'code']. org removeEmptyProtocols. -- Dr. Geo http://drgeo.eu
