I don't know if Spec exposes this in any way, but you can do this via sending button widget widget borderWidth: 2 to your model. The "widget widget" part is because there's also a MorphicAdapter between a model and a real Morph. I didn't check this, but it's possible you will need to do this *after* the window is rendered and shown, in which case you have a #whenBuiltDo: method on ComposableModel for this. Ok, so I investigated a bit and it turns out it really is not possible with pure Spec (and no, absolute positioning is not an answer ;)) and that it is possible with a bit of fiddling with underlying morphs, LayoutFrames and LayoutPolicies. In the beginning I had this window: https://klibert.pl/statics/spec-layout1.png It was (almost) easy to make a single label centered: it turns out columns and rows in Spec set ProportionalLayout as a default layout policy (or maybe it's just the default everywhere) and centering a Morph inside another with this essentially boils down to sending it #hResizing: and #vResizing: messages with #shrinkWrap argument. I had to also make the LabelMorph narrower than the space it had available to trigger centering. So, after inspecting one LabelMorph and executing this code: self hResizing: #shrinkWrap. self width: self minWidth. my window looked like this: https://klibert.pl/statics/spec-layout2.png Now I needed to find a way of executing it for all the LabelMorphs. This was problematic, because they were all representing a single LabelModel and I couldn't get to all of them via label widget widget because this only returned the last LabelMorph. Mea Culpa

Okay, so far, I've made two mistakes. First was my lack of sensitivity to cultural differences around the world. Now that I know better, I shall do better. Second was my failure to distinguish between different subgroups within the Pharo forum. The reason I chose Pharo forum to discuss my campaign was the fact that it is the most active Smalltalk forum there is. People who are interested in Smalltalk join the most active forum generally, and this includes not only Pharoers, but people from ESUG, Squeak, Cincom, Amber, Redline, etc. So, for example, when I appealed for contributors to the Redline project, I should've distinguished the target audience as those groups other than Pharoers. This was my failure and I own up to it. It is unfortunate that I must use the Pharo forum for this purpose. The Smalltalk community is so terribly fragmented that there is no universal Smalltalk forum to address, at least, none that is actually *inhabited*. Without the ability to address the largest number of Smalltalkers, the SRP cannot make any progress. I'm sorry, but I have to be blunt. If anyone can offer a practical alternative, I'd like to hear it. Otherwise, the SRP has only two choices: 1) Continue what it is doing on the Pharo forum, and be mindful of which group(s) I am addressing. 2) Fold up the campaign and leave the destiny of Smalltalk to the Fates. Without the ability to reach out to Smalltalkers everywhere, I am hopelessly disadvantaged. could not find display

Hi, I am on an Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and I trying to install and run pharo. I follow the Ubuntu ppa instructions. I also install lib32z1 lib32ncurses5 lib32bz2-1.0 (ia32-libs from the readme file in zip archive is not available anymore) then the command pharo return a polite : could not find display driver vm-display-X11; either: - check that /usr/lib/pharo-vm//vm-display-X11.so exists, or - use the '-plugins <path>' option to tell me where it is, or - remove DISPLAY from your environment. Abandon (core dumped) I confirm that vm-display-X11.so exists Any (french) one to help me ?
