Writing test for the String class

Hi guys: I'm working on adding new test for the String class to improve the test coverage. Rigth now, the string class has 75,42% of coverage. I found out thanks to Hapao. Well, these ones are methods that I don't understand. what are they used for? how can I use them? - correctAgainst: continuedFrom: - correctAgainstDictionary: continuedFrom: - lineNumberCorrespondingToIndex: - correctAgainstEnumerator: continuedFrom: - tabDelimitedFieldsDo: - expandMacrosWithArguments: - indexOfWideCharacterFrom: to: Please, could you help me to understand them, in order to do write some test cases? -- Cheers, Dani

Yes - there's no problem with menus if you use Morphs. Here's an interface that uses a ToolDockingBarMorph to implement a menu. <http://forum.world.st/file/n4744441/PharoScreenshot.3.png> The question is - why can't you do this in Spec? if Spec is to become the standard way to build interfaces then it needs to provide a full widget set. If you constantly have to fall back on Morphs then you might as well build the whole thing with Morphs. I can see that one day Spec may justify the effort spent on it - we may get the promised UI builder, we may get an OpenGL backend or a MARS backend that allows us to build Spec interfaces with native widgets. When these things happen we can all rejoice. But right now I'm thinking that the effort might have been better spent on cleaning and documenting Morphic, or removing the one window restriction, or fully integrating MARS. I confess I've never really understood Spec. When I first heard about it I assumed a Spec would be a text description of an interface, like Mozilla XUL or Delphi DFM files. Instead Spec is just another layer of code on top of Morphic - a layer of code that is still some way from being complete. Maringolo Its not a shortcut but what I do is click the <Packages...> button in Finder to use just on the ones I want, and then search Sources - which is now pretty quick. I often have several Finders open all scoped differently, so I often change the window title (e.g. "Roassal Finder") and also set the window to "Not Closable". cheers -ben

A bit convoluted maybe, but you can "Browse Scoped" on the hierarchy from the Nautilus context menu. This is easy if they are all in the same package. If you want more control, you can create a group from the hierarchy and browse scoped on that. An easy way to create the group if the classes are spread across different packages is to bring up a hierarchy view on the base class, then mull-select and "Add in Group" from the context menu. How to look for local senders/implementors in a hierarchy

Is there any way (shortcut?) to search for the senders/implementors in a selected class or any of its subclasses? Sometimes I want to find which methods reference a particular one in my own hierarchy, and if the selector name is common I'll have to dive through a long list of methods I'm not interested in :) Regards!
