I personally use emacs , git , github and gitbook.io. There is a pillar preview for GT tools (as Sven mentioned), but I have not tested thoroughly . So maybe editing pillar inside Pharo is not that far away. Overall pillar syntax is very simple and quite small so it should not be that hard to implement for Pharo. Afterall Pillar is implemented in Pharo. But still Pharo cannot compete with emacs for editing text . Which is fine because nothing stops me from using both Pharo and Emacs and I love both tools very much. My dream would be not to use Pillar at all and Pharo instead have a documentation tool like LibreOffice that allow you to export to Pillar files. Hi, I wanted to experiment with Pillar however I'm not sure what to use to edit it. I was expecting some kind of editor with preview directly in Pharo but there is nothing. The next best thing I found was PillarHub based on Ace editor, however it depends on Mozilla Persona. Is such thing needed? If I'm running it locally why would I need to login somewhere? You don't log in to IDE when you want to program. Also such thing requires internet connection and is all extra nuisance when used on localhost. Is there a way to disable it? Do you use this setup, or are you all writing it in vim/emacs and only compile it once in a while? Thanks, Peter

yes again if you browse Morphic you will find the event-handling protocol two methods I tested is handleKeyStroke: that should return true so that your morph handles key strokes events and then you need to also override keyStroke: itself to do whatever you want to do, from there on you can check the KeyboardEvent class to see what the event that is passed to keyStroke: as argument is. for example keyStroke: event event inspect. (event keyCharacter = $h) ifTrue: [ Transcript open. Transcript show: 'Hello User and welcome to Pharo :) '] the above assume you have created a class that is subclass of Morph and you override the methods mentioned in that class. would it not be better to have the html / css and js code outside the image ? so instead to load files instead of return strings ? this would make it easier to edit the code for html/css/js . GT js integration no idea how that works, does GT has for example syntax highlighting or other js specific features ? Even though I always have been a supporter of Amber the IDE has still a very long way to go. Dont know about Seaside, but I assume for Seaside js code will still be something foreign. I think in practice would be better to use the IDE tools offered by firefox and chrome, though its still possible to use both amber and these tools, amber does not produce readable js code. No clue about React and SqueakJS. I am very new to web dev so probably I miss a lot, but frankly I found the fragmentation so shocking and so many negative opinions about the whole workflow that I have been reluctant to invest as much time as I have invested in Pharo. But then the things I do are not so web orientated as other people. But still I am very interested into this. SqueakJS looks definitely very interesting.
