Yes I do have them but without the ">>" signs This is what I have inside the CharacterToken Class characterData: anObject characterData := anObject This is where pharo complains characterToken := CharacterToken new. characterToken characterData: AMPERSAND. It says it doesn't understand characterData though it is defined in the CharacterToken class The setters and getters were generated by pharo. Setters for instance variables

Hello again, If I have an instance variable A in ClassA and I want to use it in ClassB. If I do the following in ClassB objectA := ClassA new. objectA A: "new value for A". Why doesn't this work? Isnt this calling the setter of A on the objectA ? Pharo doesn't understand it for some reason .

Now read the chapter on the syntax on Pharo by example. The book is free but you have to read it to learn. Creating Class Objects

Hello Eveyone, I just filed out a package did some changes and then filed in again. Im getting the error doesNotUnderstand: #CharacterToken and the name of the window says MessageNotUnderstood: receiver of " CharacterToken" is nil. What I have in my code is this characterToken CharacterToken new. characterToken is a variable I have. What is even more confusing is that I have the same thing for other things(endOfFileToken EndOfFileToken new.) but it doesn't complain to these but only this one even though Im doing them in the same exact way. Any ideas what the problem can be ? Thanks Mohammad
