Pharo By Example - VM issues

Hi all, I'm evaluating PBE (1.0) because my nephew is starting to get interested in programming :-) There is a VM issue though: the PBE website refers the pharo website to download the VM, and the only VM I can find is in the 1.3 download page. This VM however crashes with the PBE image (MacOS). It works with the latest squeakvm (non-cog) though. I think, as a minimal-effort patch, it would be good to have the PBE website refer to squeakvm.org and clearly indicate that to run the PBE image a non-cog VM should be used. Idem on the pharoproject website. Of course this may make things running slower :) To make sure that nothing can interrupt given process, you should run it at highest possible proirity. But then you will rely on scheduling semantics currently employed in system. VSE ObjectFiler / VW BinaryObjectStorage

Hi I'm trying to migrate VSE / VW code to Pharo. I have some "serialized" objects "dumped" with a class called ObjectFiler (VSE) or BynaryObjectStorage (VW). Those files are index files. They were "dumped" for a quick reload. I'm looking and I cannot find something similar in Pharo. Will I have to transfer those files to something else. I appreciate your help.
