Socket>>accept

Hi, I'm trying to implement a simple server. What I want the code to do is as follows: * Create a socket and listen on a port * Wait for an incoming connection * When a connection is received, fork a process to deal with it and go back to waiting for connections. I believe the following code should accomplish this (I have omitted the loop and the fork because I want to get it working for a single connection before I start with multiple connections!): server := Socket new. server listenOn: 1234. client := server accept. However when I run this I get Socket(Object)>>primitiveFailed. Examining the stack trace reveals the source to be this method: Socket>>primAcceptFrom:receiveBufferSize:sendBufSize:semaIndex: <primitive: 'primitiveSocketAccept' module: 'SocketPlugin'> ^self primitiveFailed When I take a look in /usr/local/lib/squeak/3.11.3-2135 there are lots of plugins, but no SocketPlugin. Swazoo seems to work fine without it and all of the tests in the NetworkTests package pass.

This is a Seaside link, but most solutions are also for Pharo: http://www.seaside.st/documentation/persistence For example: http://www.seaside.st/documentation/persistence#209322156 http://www.seaside.st/documentation/persistence#208625885 So...you can serialize to XML using SIXX. To binary using ReferenceStream, SmartRefStream or even ImageSegment. There may be more I am not aware of. There ARE UI. Check: - I copy paste here mail from DOru about Metaceller: I would want to announce a basic version of a browser for managing Metacello configurations already loaded in the image. It is called Metaceller :) and it is based on Glamour. To get it, invoke the following: Gofer new squeaksource: 'glamoroust'; package: 'ConfigurationOfGlamoroust'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfGlamoroust) perform: #loadDefault. (Smalltalk at: #GTMetaceller) perform: #open - Metacello by default only install the core, but you can install it with the Metacello OB tools. Check http://code.google.com/p/metacello/wiki/MetacelloTools I think (not sure, should check) that if OB is installed in the image, then OB-Metacello is installed automatically. Anyway, you can always do a (ConfigurationOfMetacello project lastVersion) load: 'ALL' and should work.
