String with: Character cr

Hi all, I am bulding some Strings to have nice textual representations of some of my objects. What is happening a lot is code like this: self foo , ' in ', (String with: Character cr), self bar. Hi Jack did you check PointerFinder? I can search for reasons why a certain object isn't garbage collected. I'm a quick port of a VisualWorks program written by Hans-Martin Mosner. Call me as shown below. I'll search for a path from a global variable to the given object, presenting it in a small morphic UI. Examples: PointerFinder on: self currentHand PointerFinder on: StandardSystemView someInstance Now, let's see why this image contains more HandMorphs as expected... pathfinder object?

Hello, I am wondering if anyone has coded a pathfinding object in Smalltalk? I am working on one, but don't want to "reinvent the wheel". I am new to Pharo and Smalltalk, so this should be a good learning experience. I am using the A* algorithm for starters, but would like to have a variety of pathfinding options using different algorithms. Thanks, Jack

If you can give each process a name, then you can do something like this? 10 timesRepeat: [ [(Delay forSeconds: 20) wait] forkNamed: 'Test process']. So, I wondered whether there might already be something where I can just input the classnames and get a nice view of all differences? Kill all non-essential processes in one go?

Hi: Is there an easy way to kill all non-essential processes in an image? Some of my unit tests spawn a huge number of new processes, and I want to get rid of them easily when there was an error anywhere. Any ideas? To be able to select multiple items in the process browser would be a great start... Stefan, To use Lukas's spell checker, use Monticello to download: Refactoring-Spelling from http://www.squeaksource.com/rb/ This is temporarily not in the dev image. Right click your package, and choose refactoring scope - package. In the scoped browser, right click your package, and choose refactor- code critics. Spell check errors will be highlighted in bold, and you can browse from that panel.
