Are you sure this is from Einstein? I know it as: "Manche Menschen haben einen Gesichtskreis vom Radius Null und nennen ihn ihren Standpunkt." -- David Hilbert which would translate into something like: Some people have got a mental horizon of radius zero and call it their point of view. I don't believe IRC can be a time waster at all. I think it is one of the better ways to develop goodwill inside the community. People tend to be somewhat impressed when they casually mention a problem on irc and a developer can fix it in 5 minutes, and tell them how to load the fix, and get some immediate feedback. This happened very many times in the development of MC. Keith and I use IRC to do pair programming and hash out ideas all the time. Each of us has its own style, and nobody can prejudge one's style. I am very happy that there is an IRC channel, even it is unlikely that I attend it. I prefer to use instant messaging instead. Cheers, Alexandre
