Each of us has its own style, and nobody can prejudge one's style. I am very happy that there is an IRC channel, even it is unlikely that I attend it. I prefer to use instant messaging instead. Cheers, Alexandre

So get an IRC client and /join #pharo-project.
You need to take into account that IRC can be quite some time-waster and that therefore some people might not be able to attent that often.
I don't believe IRC can be a time waster at all. I think it is one of the better ways to develop goodwill inside the community. People tend to be somewhat impressed when they casually mention a problem on irc and a developer can fix it in 5 minutes, and tell them how to load the fix, and get some immediate feedback. This happened very many times in the development of MC.
Keith and I use IRC to do pair programming and hash out ideas all the time. We do this in public so that anyone can join in and offer ideas
