Re: [Pharo-project] RDF Framework and Pharo

by Cédrick Béler

I try to remove the dependency of VWXML package (which has been replaced with XMLSupport). For that purpose, I had to use Rikaiko.jb.8 instead of Rikaiko.jb.10 wich is empty for me... I don't think it works (it was a work under progress in 2006 so...) but at least, it should load and it may help you. I attached the .mcz. It also generated a XML package as a dependancy but this is only XML-Support so you don't need to load it I guess... hth, Cédrick > This is quite old. > You should ask Julien Bourdon (in CC), one of my former student who do > this work. > > Regards, > > On Tue, May 17, 2011 at 12:50 AM, Laszlo Zsolt Kiss <lzskiss(a)dublin.ie> wrote: >> Aloha. >> The status: I can't install it. >> The short story: >> 1., >> I installed XMLSupport , >> 2, >> Next probally install VWXML package , the VWXML package didn't finding the >> XML package ahah, Great. >> Rikaiko using the VWXML parser, this is the only dependencies. >> What is the next good step?:) >> Best regards >> Laszlo Zsolt Kiss >> >> ----- Original Message ----- >> From: >> "Mariano Martinez Peck" <marianopeck(a)gmail.com> >> To: >> <Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inriafr>, "Laszlo Zsolt Kiss" >> <lzskiss(a)dublin.ie> >> Cc: >> Sent: >> Mon, 16 May 2011 19:32:47 +0200 >> Subject: >> Re: [Pharo-project] RDF Framework and Pharo >> >> >> Hello. http://www.squeaksource.com/Rikaiko.html >> >> But I have no idea of the status... >> >> mariano >> >> On Mon, May 16, 2011 at 7:12 PM, Laszlo Zsolt Kiss <lzskiss(a)dublin.ie> >> wrote: >>> >>> Hello. >>> How can I using Rikaiko RDF framework with Pharo 1.2 or 1.3? >>> Anybody working with this stuff? >>> Best regards >>> Laszlo Zsolt Kiss >> >> >> -- >> Mariano >> http://marianopeck.wordpress.com >> >> > > > > -- > Serge Stinckwich > UMI UMMISCO 209 (IRD/UPMC), Hanoi, Vietnam > Every DSL ends up being Smalltalk > http://doesnotunderstand.org/ >

[Pharo-project] [ANN] SmallHarbour project

by Romain Verduci

We actually have www.seasidehosting.st which can only be used for non-commercial applications. I am Romain Verduci, a french student in Information System (Master degree) who likes smalltalk since I have discovered it last year through Pharo. Today, I participate to weekly coding-dojos with other smalltalk fans (http://cara74.seasidehosting.st/) I am lucky to participate to ESUG SummerTalk this year with Laurent Laffont as mentor to develop SmallHarbour project. With the support of ESUG and under the ESUG SummerTalk 2011, we want to provide: - a simple platform to host commercial smalltalk web applications. - an easy way for everyone (and enterprise) to deploy their own hosting platform. - for the non-smalltalkers, provide ready Pier images to deploy basic blogs, event presentations and more. SmallHarbour has started from the actual Seaside Hosting code base. Our first objective is to port it to Pharo / Cog / Seaside 3 and document. For more informations about the project, you can follow us on www.smallharbour.org. If you have any needs or ideas in order to improve our project vision, we will be happy to collect them. We will setup community tools (issue tracker, public repositories, doc ....) when the exams period is over :) Best regards Romain Verduci Student in Information System (Master degree) - IMUS, IAE Savoie Mont-Blanc - Annecy Tel. : +33659892353 Mail : contact(a)romain-verduci.com

[Pharo-project] Should we flag this as inconsistency? (using thisContext)

by Igor Stasenko

Consider following: case a) | a b | a := thisContext. [ b := thisContext ] value. a == b case b) | a b | a := thisContext. true ifTrue [ b := thisContext ]. a == b what you think, should those two cases evaluate to same value? not really matter if true or false (i prefer false, or course ;), but what matters is t hat if case a) evaluating to true, then case b) should also evaluate to true and if a) is false, then b) should be false as well. (The potential fix is to never inline blocks who referencing to thisContext variable). -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko AKA sig.

Re: [Pharo-project] I give up. Squeaksource has lost lot ofversions again

by Bernat Romagosa

I don't understand why is there a thread identical to this one every two or three weeks. This discussion was already held a long time ago and its outcome was that someone was hired to implement a new code repository, Smalltalkhub's the name. This problem is in its way to be permanently solved, let's all stop speculating about how the system will be and how great would it be if it had feature X. I'm sure Smalltalkhub will be _miles_ ahead of Squeaksource and we'll all be able to contribute our ideas once it is up, running and being actively tested. Of course I expect ESUG thought not only of getting it implemented but also of its maintenance, so I propose we just wait for it to come out and bury this fruitless discussion once and for all. In the meantime, I guess we all have to be patient and keep putting up with an obsolete system for a little bit longer. Cheers, Bernat

Why don't you all write a git client in Pharo? Then you could use github as the shared repository. Monticello packages could be the git projects. You could define git sub-modules to support dependencies to other projects. -----Original Message----- From: Igor Stasenko Sent: Tuesday, May 17, 2011 10:19 AM To: Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr Subject: Re: [Pharo-project] I give up.
