Sorry, but the mechanism is one thing, the semantics another. Calling it displayString won't solve the problem.
The problem is that there is often more than one useful string representation.
That's why I said it is a matter of taste. In the end, not having a concrete #asString implementation might be a good choice. Esteban A. Maringolo
