Yes, you are right. In Pharo 1.4 The problem was that when you evaluate FileStream fileNamed: 'hello.t' it gives you an instance of MultiByteFileStream, and it's a read write stream. But when you evaluate (FileSystem disk workingDirectory resolve: 'hello.t') writeStream. it gives you a FileSystemWriteStream and it's just a write stream.
