Using Linux requires certain skills/knowledge, this has nothing to do with Pharo or Smalltalk. To run 32-bit binaries on a 64-bit system you need 32-bit libraries. You can check the dependencies of binaries and dynamic libraries with ldd. You must also understand the difference between a UI based and headless system.

You should run 'pharo' and 'pharo-ui', something like this:
$ pharo myApplication.image
Search on google for 'pharo headless', you should find plenty of example.
