Pretty much; there is test for equality
RTGroup>>elementFromModel: anObject ^ self detect: [ :el | el model = anObject ] ifNone: [ nil ]
and equality is more often than not wanted.
So solution might be to tell Mondrian that you want to compare by identity and not equality?
