[Pharo-project] pharo website proposal
Hi all, Please find a proposal for the pharo website. The example text is from the iolanguage website because i like this site and the way they present the language and the content. (structure and clarity) I know that the stained texture can seems strange, may be at first, but this allow to bring colors and a nice texture like water or stars with imagniation ;-) http://www.ouvanous.com/images/pharo/pharo-ws-design-0.1.png and a new version of the logo http://www.ouvanous.com/images/pharo/ppharo-0.8.0.pdf Hope you will like it Regards, Samuel

Why not Pier?
Because: - I know Aida/Scribo, so my contribution can be on Scribo - easy editing in full rich text editor - Scribo has nice looking Urls by its nature (Aida background) - user/group/role based security included - proven SEO - full Smalltalk, Swazoo web server included, also for serving images and even videos and screencasts, - scriblets, that is components to include directly in text like photo gallery .. and more Janko

Hi Samuel, Thanks for your effort. I like it! What I don't get is the meaning of the icon at the top right. For the font you use in the navigation, I assume this is not a standard font. I suggest to use real text there instead of an image for several reasons (e.g., to make it easy to add new menu points, and because of search engines). Hi Janko, Thanks for your offer. We have already discussed which CMS to use in this mailing list about a month ago (look for "One URL to rule them all"). I think the conclusion was to use CMSBOX. But when making the decision we will certainly also take your offer into account. Cheers, Adrian On Jul 7, 2008, at 17:50 , Janko Mivšek wrote:

It's possible to use arbitrary fonts with CSS in {d,r}ecent browsers (works in Safari at least). You can point to the URL of a font file on your web server. The font of the logo has a variant licenced especially for this use, though without an italic: http://fonts.info/info/press/free-fonts-for-font-face-embedding.htm Else there are Jos Buivenga's fonts, I particularly like Delicious, which we could use provided we add a link in the page footer. http://www.josbuivenga.demon.nl/delicious.html

Hi Damien and thanks for your comments. The PDF must have the same colors as on the website picture. Isn't it ?
