Thereâs a debug log I attach to this page. According to the log, itâs in non-interactive mode⦠but Iâm launching it from the Mac Finder... I tried both stable and latest vm A download with the zeroconf scripts will work but if I try to put the vm and the image at those places I intend to work with, it breaks. Mind that it does work with the 30526 image On 29 Dec 2013, at 12:23, Johan Brichau <johan@inceptive.be> wrote:

It seems the search for the .sources fails. On 29 Dec 2013, at 12:34, Johan Brichau <johan@inceptive.be> wrote:

Right. So it works when I copy the sources file to where the vm is. I used to keep that together with image since itâs tied to the image and not to the vm. need a bug report for that? Johan On 29 Dec 2013, at 12:43, Sven Van Caekenberghe <sven@stfx.eu> wrote:

I remember that we had an issue already with it and I thought it was fixed. Now it slipped my mind. On 29 Dec 2013, at 12:55, Johan Brichau <johan@inceptive.be> wrote:

yeah, but I also remember a discussion of ânow, sources should be always (and just there) with vm⦠or the oppositeâ⦠but I do not remember the result of that discussion and this could be a consequence of that. Marcus will know better for sure (letâs wait he is back from his holidays :) ) Esteban On 29 Dec 2013, at 22:10, Stéphane Ducasse <Stephane.Ducasse@inria.fr> wrote:

I have installed the latest PharoVMâs on Mac and Windows. On Windows it works without the copy of the sources file in the âprogramâ folder; whereas in MacOS it needs a copy in the âApplicationâ folder. So in my eyes itâs at least inconsequent (and I donât like to have the sources file in the âApplicationâ folder). What it make even stranger is the fact that I only need this copy if I use a downloaded image (I regularly download Moose-5.0 and PetitParser images from the CI). My self-updated Pharo-3.0 works without it (on MacOS). Regards, Andreas

imho, it seems more appropriate to keep them with the image since itâs the image that determines the Pharo version and not the vm. I made a bug report for it. cheers, Johan

Keeping them with the VM makes for easier sharing (just one copy, never think of it again, run images from everywhere). These are different styles I guess.
I made a bug report for it.
But what you saw was a bug indeed.
cheers, Johan

I guess it does not hurt to look at both places. In 10 years from now, you might no longer have the V10.sources anymore with your vm but you might want to dive into a 2011 image of Zinc on Pharo1.4 for good âol times sake ;-) cheers Johan

in 10 months from now (not years), if everything goes fine, sources will come inside image (also changes)⦠in an unique super-file :) but well, we are not still in that point⦠and 10 months is just a desire than a fact :) Esteban
cheers Johan

We need to get rid of it. The mental overhead it produces is costing far more then the memory it saves (and now we soon have 2014, so if it was âtoo much memoryâ for Pharo3, it will by definition not be for Pharo4 thanks to time passingâ¦) Marcus

you better post a screenshot and the precise specs of your system. Pharo works fine here. Have you tried PharoLauncher ? On Sun, Dec 29, 2013 at 1:34 PM, Johan Brichau <johan@inceptive.be> wrote:
