Thanks for the detailed answer and your suggestions to handle the issue. It would be great if such useful information would be visible in a readme workspace. I guess all newcomers can benefit from it. Regards, Franz Josef Am 19.07.2010 15:09, schrieb Mariano Martinez Peck:

I've downloaded the newest development image from <http://www.seaside.st/download/pharo> (the link of the image is <http://www.seaside.st/distributions/Seaside-3.0rc.app.zip>).
If you enable "Show update option in World menu" in the settings browser and try to bring the image up2date using this menu it fails.
It seems to me that this image has a wrong version string 'Pharo-1.1-11406-rc3' instead of 'Pharo1.1rc3'.
When you evaluate SystemVersion current version: 'Pharo1.1rc3' the update of the image works fine via the menu System>Software update.
Hi Franz Josef. The system update is disabled in purpose. The Pharo image cannot be updated anymore. Only PharoCore images can be updated. So..you have two posibilities:
- You just update seaside in the same Pharo image - You just take any new released Pharo image and load Seaside there.
If you are curious why updates were disable, read: http://forum.world.st/update-1-1-11371-tp2229126p2231195.html
Thanks
Mariano
