[Pharo-project] How to know 'real' extent of a PanelMorph

by Cyrille Delaunay

Hello, I have a panelMorph composed by several row/columns with different kind of morphs. What I would like to know is, what is the extent / size that I should use to FULLY display this panel (without scrollbars). Each time I ask for the extent of a panelMorph, it answers 50@40, whatever what is inside. If you openInWorld you will have something very very small. Is there a way to retrieve an extent with which the panel morph will be 'well' displayed (without having scrollbars everywhere)? In other words, what I really want to know is: Given two panelMorph, is there a way to say that one need more place than the other to be displayed?

Of course we want namespaces in Pharo! :-) But, we also want clean well designed stuff. Actually, what we want is a real module system. Now, we need to look on what is out there. I looked in SqueakSource and the last version dates back to last summer. So, I guess that the project is dead and for sure it won't load in 1.3. But it is certainly needed to be discussed and it would be nice if at least a timeframe for this discussion is announced. If not put in a plan for Pharo ... We namely need namespaces (or something similar), most other Smalltalks have them and those who work on those dialects we know how useful namespaces are, so it is a time to decide about namespaces in Pharo too.
