Please, just try TWM now! It may not be the best, but it works and progresses. 2011/5/31 Torsten Bergmann <astares(a)gmx.de> > Igor Stasenko > >window manager can't prevents windows from clutter. > >the real solution is to change the workflow to not open that many windows. > > With more than 20 windows the TWM button from Laurents project is > useless since the tiled windows are too small... > This is not right now (earlier if it was), because now there are many ways of filter screens, even freeze the current size of the windows, which makes it very simple and quick way its re-organization. > > Yes - when working on two classes ... you typically open two windows, > then three, then more. The result is that the window is 1 / 8 the size of the screen (I attach screenshot). With the resolution size of the current monitors or the possibility of having multiple monitors and extend the main window Pharo through these, using windows of 1 / 4 of the screen can be a waste, plus there are tools that do not need more a small space. Moreover, this way you can only have 4 move operations: topWindowMoveTop / Bottom / Left / Rigth, since the rest of you combined the above. > I've implemented automatic refresh (see TilingWMSettings > class>>initialize). Another detail is, that users on the commandline expect errors to go to stderr and not to some 'hidden' log file. Would it be possible to have that recognized on startup and have errors redirected to stderr instead of a log file? [Pharo-project] Transcript status

by Fernando Olivero

Hi, in the latest image you can find the newest version of the Transcript. 1) Menu support 2) automatic scrolling to reveal the latest content 3) Transcript show: 'hello';cr. Works again. I've modified the semantics of browsing, and other system navigation features, now you can "find" any selection by opening the finder. Please let me know if you agree. There are still 3 pending bugs, you can find them in ISSUE 4209. 1) 1 to: 30 do: [: x | Transcript cr; show: x. (Delay forSeconds: 0.2) wait.]. 2) clear on cmd-s 3) loggingToFile ( fixed , but no integrated yet) Fernando

Any error on startup will lead to writing error to log and quitting to OS. Since scripts are processed during startup, error in script leads to quitting to OS. To what i see, everything works as expected: on error during startup, an image leaves to the system. Maybe we should change a script manager to process script only after full startup is done. So, then instead of quitting from image you will have a debugger open. -- Best regards, Igor Stasenko AKA sig.
