So we can open several editors that don't eat space. Then we can add a TWM Layout strategy that put only one browser on top and all editor windows tiled below. Another way is that browsing panes can be hidden by default (add a setting for this behavior) so it shows only method / class definition. Add a button to toggle browsing panes visibility (may be easier to do this). [Pharo-project] Model classification

by Pavel Krivanek

Hi, I would like to ask why the class Model was moved to the package UI-Basic. Some system classes inherit from it, namely SimpleServiceEntry, Project and FileModifyingSimpleServiceEntry. Cheers, -- Pavel

You know wht I would love to have is a simple browser class>>selector method body so that I can till my methods :) Stef On May 31, 2011, at 10:58 PM, laurent laffont wrote: > Thanks to Stefan, Serge, Patrick and Estelle now you can choose a Layout Strategy in settings. > > Actually there's Horizontal (default) and Vertical (last used windows fills all remaining space) strategies. > > To add your own just subclass TWMLayoutStrategy and implement #tileWindows: > > Cheers, > > Laurent Laffont - @lolgzs > > Pharo Smalltalk Screencasts: http://www.pharocasts.com/ > Blog: http://magaloma.blogspot.com/ > Developer group: http://cara74.seasidehosting.st >

Thanks another piece of the puzzle..... Re: [Pharo-project] Numerical packages

by Serge Stinckwich

Hi, recently, i was interested to be able to integrate numerically ordinary differential equations (ODE) for a project about epidemiological simulation. I have no big needs and i can reimplement Runge-Kutta method (rk4 function and friends) in Smalltalk at the beginning. But if i want to be able to do heavy simulations in the future, i'm definitively interested by a solution like Smallapack for Pharo ! [Pharo-project] [ANN?] Keymappings 1.8

by Guillermo Polito

- It is a little more clean and robust. - It supports integration with TextMorphs - It allows separate declaration of keymaps and settings, so we can now put configurable keymaps or not :) - It works also in 1.3 Dev image Gofer it squeaksource: 'ShortWays'; package: 'ConfigurationOfKeymapping'; load. (ConfigurationOfKeymapping project version: '1.8') load. Now, back to DBX :) Guille

[Pharo-project] How difficult is to fix this keyboard input issue?

by Guillermo Polito

Hi! In order to have a decent keybinder/keymapping/shortcut package, we need to fix this crap: http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=3748&q=events&colspec=ID%20… :) I don't know if someone can take a look. Maybe it's easy to fix, maybe it's not :S. Maybe someone can just give some directions :). Thanks! Guille

I personally insane enough, that i would like to be able to manufacture airplane while it flying from factory to owner. Because life is short, and you not always sure that fix you just made is final one.. maybe there are some more, which you may need to add in a last minute :) Code is just another form of data, and smalltalk is an exceptionally brilliant proof of it. And as any data we should learn how to transform it without breaking it into meaningless pieces. I'd like to know, how we can teach system (and ourselves) to understand that whole is more than just a sum of elementary parts. A system can be extremely modular. Modules can be as little as one module per class (or even per object). But the thing is, no matter how small the bricks and how well (an fully) you studied every piece which you put into system. Because when these pieces start interacting with each other - they creating a multidimentional space, where it is no longer possible to prove anything: - are your system secure? - is it stable? - is it bug free? - is it performant? etc etc >> I imagine this would require a quite sophisticated database , with UI >> on top of that, which will allow you to navigate >> through these notices mark them as invalid, or fixed etc etc.. >> What i mean that automated tools is cool. Re: [Pharo-project] TilingWM - layout policies

Great! Perhaps a pattern strategy can be used also for filtering windows, for example if you want to include or not minimized, or writing complex filters like "all windows whose title includes 'Project X'". 2011/5/31 laurent laffont <laurent.laffont(a)gmail.com> > Thanks to Stefan, Serge, Patrick and Estelle now you can choose a Layout > Strategy in settings. > > Actually there's Horizontal (default) and Vertical (last used windows fills > all remaining space) strategies. > > To add your own just subclass TWMLayoutStrategy and implement #tileWindows: > > Cheers, > > Laurent Laffont - @lolgzs <http://twitter.com/#!/lolgzs> > > Pharo Smalltalk Screencasts: http://www.pharocasts.com/ > Blog: http://magaloma.blogspot.com/ > Developer group: http://cara74.seasidehosting.st > >
