[Pharo-project] Please test Pharo 1.3!

by Marcus Denker

Please test Pharo 1.3! There is no magic.. what is now here: https://pharo-ic.lille.inria.fr/hudson/job/Pharo%201.3/ Will be the release. Issues fixed until the released are just those that will be detected and fixed. There is no magic. For those who only run released software: Version Number is 1.3. Consider this released. There will be no RC. Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://www.marcusdenker.de INRIA Lille -- Nord Europe. Team RMoD.

[Pharo-project] About HTTP proxies, settings and MacOS

by Mariano Martinez Peck

Hi guys. Few weeks ago, there was an issue about Zn and HTTP proxies. I am in MacOS and behind a proxy. Before that issue, I was able to DIRECTLY connect to internet without specifying anything at the image level. This is because, I guess, the VM and somehow the image I guess, took the default proxy settings I have in MacOS. Now, with the last version of Pharo 1.3 I need to explicitly set the proxy in order to go to internet. So, first question, is that expected? Second question, if I go to the settings browser, Network -> Use HTTP proxy, if I check the box, it AUTOMATICALLY shows me the correct data: IP + port. So it seems it is getting it automatically from the MacOS specification. When enabling the checkbox, I can use internet. However, I still need to go there and set it and I am a lazy guy ;) So my question is....is there a way to avoid having to set this? I mean, if you could detect that there was a proxy IP and port, why not to use it directly? is this on purpose? Thanks -- Mariano http://marianopeck.wordpress.com

Re: [Pharo-project] changes with announcements ?

by Cyrille Delaunay

I got another issue related to that i think. In moose , at one moment in a announcement handling code, we are doing: Notification signal: 'Save successful!'. That has for consequence that the on:fork: cuts the stack and I end up with a 'MessageNotUnderstood: receiver of "sender" is nil'. So I don't know if the problem is that we are signaling a notification? if yes what should we use to notify something ? If you want to reproduce the bug, you can take this image: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12818380/Moose-26.zip then right click on the selected model import-export / export to mse (I attached a screenshot showing that). 2011/5/27 Igor Stasenko <siguctua(a)gmail.com> > On 27 May 2011 12:05, Cyrille Delaunay <cy.delaunay(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > Hello, > > Today I experimented some strange behaviours with announcements that I > > didn't have in some previous moose images (moose in now based on Pharo > > 1.3). > > I think that there was some changes related to announcements in pharo > > recently, but I could not be sure it is related. > > At one point in my code I have: > > browser on: AnnouncementClass send: #actionSelector > > browser announce: anAnnouncementClass. > > .... > > .... > > The behaviour I have is like if #actionSelector was executed > asynchronously > > from the rest of the code below 'browser announce: ...' . > > Not sure but there is maybe something with exception signals. Re: [Pharo-project] [Jenkins] Kernel 1.4 with Gofer+Networking

by Pavel Krivanek

Well, the size is so big because loading of packages worked well but initialization step that does cleanup failed. Change this: line 76: accuny := Compiler evaluate: (FileStream readOnlyFileNamed: 'accuny.txt') contentsOfEntireFile. line 263: rep := FileStream forceNewFileNamed: 'PharoDebug.log'. ...or use the attached file. Evidently a mess in versions, I think my fault. In the file loadCore.st remove the line 70 that makes the package Deprecated12 part of the Core image to be up-to-date with current verson. Re: [Pharo-project] JavaConnect?

by Alexandre Bergel

Ok, I understand. I need to access some Java library within Pharo. What I will do, is probably the following: - built a simple socket transmission between Pharo and Java. Just sending string via sockets - having a Groovy interpreter running on the JVM to access my library I think it will work pretty well and with no effort.
