Re: [Pharo-project] Camp Smalltalk Edinburgh

by Stéphane Ducasse

I will give a lecture saturday but I can give some guidance for the sprint Yes there are plenty of tasks - fixing the edit problem when the system asks for a variable (alex wants to work on that) - making sure shout works - integrating FS (using it) we should load first the fixes made by camillo - building a new changesorter :) I started but got distracted - using Nautilus to give feedback to benjamin - removing reference to SourcedMethodReference and friends (veronica should add a better instance creation method on methodDefinition because I did most of the work and realized after that I was using the wrong api. - and we have a long time of open issue on the tracker On Aug 19, 2011, at 9:55 PM, Michael Roberts wrote: > Hi, just wondering if there were any pharoers at Camp Smalltalk this > weekend? Nicolas This is a good question and we experimenting to find the right answer. We should have less as possible reference to classes. So that we can replace them easily. The experience changing Transcript was not really a good illustration of that point because Transcript is a global and since the class binding is shared in compile methods normally we would not have to recompile everything, but still. Now more generally I like the idea of newspeak that we could get the notion of from this module we pick and access only what we use. Stef

[Pharo-project] Faster UI style?

by Stéphane Ducasse

Hi is it me or the style of squeak looks faster than the one of pharo? Do you know if there were special optimisation beside the style or this is just the rounding and other niceties of Pharo look that make it slower? Stef

+1 I know the feel. I haven't really worked on this since then. Sven

Re: [Pharo-project] setUp and test methods

by Stéphane Ducasse

Yes I would like to have a bit the same than in wiskher browser and see multiple method definitino In O2 there was such possibility but only vertically (you could pin a method pane when you did not want its method to get replace by another one). by Camillo Bruni

I'm working on the various GitProtocols, amongst them is the normal HTTP version which in popular cases (like github) requires the SSL version. So is there somewhere an SSL version for Zinc? (even partially working ;) cheers cami
