[Pharo-project] Better Gofer error messages

by Janko Mivšek

Hi guys, Please please, let someone improve Gofer error messages, which are now totally non-understandable. Check in advance if some package is there and say "No package with that name", or even better, "no package with expected name: Blabla6.xxx" or something. What it is now is unusable, sorry. To prepare a right script is a big pain. Specially because there are nowhere rules how packages are resolved by a name. It will help if in exception at least a link to the some wiki with rules would be shown. Best regards Janko -- Janko Mivšek Svetovalec za informatiko Eranova d.o.o. [Pharo-project] setting Windows Application Title Bar

by Ben Coman

These past few days I've had several images open at the same time to compare the operation of different versions, and found I quickly lost track of exactly which image was which. There is a lot of empty space on application title bar after "Pharo 1.3" where I'd like to display the directory where pharo.exe was started from. Can this be changed on the fly from the image? or a less attractive alternative... how do I query the pharo.exe location from the Workspace, and/or update some text on the background on startup. cheers, Ben

It's fixed now, thanks for the heads-up. by Ben Coman

Is the link from http://www.pharo-project.org/community to the Hudson server wrong? or is the server just down?

Since we're making this up, why not use the most standard; although I thought the objection is that there may be more than config info there? Now that I think about it. I do not understand the motivation for this file in general. Will someone give a use case? Why not just do whatever it is in the start up list? -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Startup-Preferences-tp4129591p4195476.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.
