Re: [Pharo-project] Building the iOS VM - Help

by Esteban Lorenzano

Hi, this are, more or less, the instructions to build an iOS vm: you need: - cmake 2.8.3 (not working with latest 2.8.7 because chainsets changed) - xcode 4.1 or 4.2 (not working on 4.3 because cmake is not prepared to build correct project for latest xcode version) 1) clone cog-osx (mine) or blessed from git [1] 2) in ./image download a 1.4 and install ConfigurationOfCog (latest) 3) execute: StackIPhoneConfig new generateSources; generate 4) in ./build execute cmake -G Xcode . 5) open iStackVM.xcodeproj 6) add your own provisioning data 7) run :) cheers, Esteban [1] https://gitorious.org/~estebanlm/cogvm/cog-osx El 24/03/2012, a las 3:25p.m., phil(a)highoctane.be escribió: > I am trying to build the VM for iOS. > Got the sources from the ci jenkins server (the ones that built last month, as the current one is red). > > /platforms has something looking like it. Currently, I am writing code targetting iOS for an educational game (but no Smalltalk in there) That may change. I am okay with helping getting the iOS VM to work. The main issue is that what I want is an Xcode projet that is clean. This is doable, the current Xcode project in the source tree is crappy with locations not well defined etc. Fixable. But I need to know what to do first. Hilaire told me to look here. I've got an Arduino Uno. In fact, I did a number of ISA (! old) cards, and interfaces, like oscilloscope board, ... I can hook that back to the Arduino and then in turn make some Pharo classes (maybe with FFI - I know some people did stuff but not on OSX) to take the data in. The fun part would be the visualization of an iPad remotely. I saw something in Ghent (I am from Belgium). I'll try to go. Then in Lille, there is also something. I'll go as well. Depends in fact on how well I recover from my current eye surgery. I am locked in my home/office for 4 weeks due to retinal detachment :-( - Things should be okay by then. For the record, I am a civil engineer and am self employed since 2000. http//philippeback.eu Philippe 2012/3/24 Stéphane Ducasse <stephane.ducasse(a)inria.fr> > > On Mar 24, 2012, at 7:26 PM, philippe.back(a)highoctane.be wrote: > > > I am trying to build the VM for iOS. > > Got the sources from the ci jenkins server (the ones that built last > month, as the current one is red). > > > > /platforms has something looking like it. [Pharo-project] Updated DL Links http://www.pharo-project.org/pharo-download/release-1-3

by Marcus Denker

Hi, http://www.pharo-project.org/pharo-download/release-1-3 -> "Pharo 1.3" and "PharoCore 1.3" download links now point to 13327 zips on Gforge -> VM downloads point to latest successful build on Jenkins for Win,Linux and Mac. TODO: -> update one-Click. Christophe has a test job for a 1.4 one-click that takes the last successfull build of all VMs: https://ci.lille.inria.fr/pharo/job/Pharo%20One%20Click%20image/ This will be added to the jobs of Pharo 1.3 and Pharo 1.4 (and Aida) soon. -> 1.3 has some faling tests and tracker entries that should be fixed http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/list?can=2&q=milestone%3D1.3 Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://marcusdenker.de

[Pharo-project] Building the iOS VM

by philippe.back＠highoctane.be

I am trying to build the VM for iOS. Got the sources from the ci jenkins server (the ones that built last month, as the current one is red). /platforms has something looking like it. (iOS) But cog is x86 and iOS is ARM7. So, I guess that I have to build a StackVM for it to work. But there is nothing about iOS in the instructions (Part1, Part2, ...) The MacOSX VM is documented but not the iOS version. As maintenance was taken over from John, how do we build from here? My setup: OSX Lion, latest XCode upgraded from Snow Leopard, so I do have GCC on it as well (as LLVM doesn't work). Target devices: iPad 2 3G, iPad 2 Wifi, iPhone 3GS (All with iOS 5.1). My wife is a math teacher and my point with all this is to have a working VM running Dr Geo II. I am currently having fun with Arduino and would like to bridge it with the iPad through the web (using an Ethernet Shield on the Arduino) - the whole chain running Pharo inside self build VMs. The ultimate point is to run a summer camp with kids if I can put everything together by then. Thanks in advance, Philippe

Now we should have a way to say check that entry -> load the code -> run the tests and say if this is ok then in parallel - we should be able to look at the code - say ok please integrate - and the system does it So benjamin has a bunch of scripts for that. stef > > Nicolas > > Le 24 mars 2012 15:37, Stéphane Ducasse <stephane.ducasse(a)inria.fr> a écrit : > >> > >> > >>> .. 1.4 has now all tests green on jenkins (Mac and Linux). > >>> > >>> The nice side-effect is that all the jobs that check VM builds are now green, too. > >>> > >>> https://ci.lille.inria.fr/pharo/view/Pharo%201.4/ > >>> > >>> The idea is to now to just never ever integrate anything that makes a test break... > >> > >> ok but it means that we should run 20 min tests each we integrate somethingâ¦. how boring. > >> We can try. > >> > >> Stef > > > > That's why you should use a full automatized process .... ^^ > > indeed. > I want :) > > Stef >
