Yes people should fix the configurations. We will start to work on the process described in the PharoVision so that all the Configurations get tested. Stef On Apr 18, 2012, at 6:35 PM, Sean P. [Pharo-project] 1.4, seaside, comet, how to get it working

by jb

i just downloaded 1.4, installed seaside using the configuration browser and everything went great. i added a Zinc server adapator in the Seaside control panel and its all working fine. but then i went to set up the comet/streaming server and im kind of stumped. there is only one kind of Zinc server adapter and when i try to use it for the comet examples they all complain about needing a server that supports streaming. what do i need to do to get a streaming server for the comet applications? thanks in advance! jb

This misses the fact that a MethodReference and a CompiledMethod are two different things *because* methods can be redefined. So if one holds onto a method that gets redefined one can have more than one method with the same name. However, a MethodReference always refers to the method that is currently installed. In this way a MethodReference is a pointer, a coordinate, but a method is a referent. Personally I think the distinction is important; browser tools should use references, not referents. > Marcus > > > -- > Marcus Denker -- http://marcusdenker.de > > > -- best, Eliot

Now when you click on the package in the browser, you can see that the repo is included in the list to the right (which initially only lists the package-cache. This is a one-time operation to set things up. As you discovered, to save the package to that repo, you select both and click "Save". It should be implemented, but since I have no knowledge about RPackage, I can't do it. Re: [Pharo-project] The video about Athens

by Denis Kudriashov

It's so great stuff!!! :)) Is cairo used as athens backend for this demo? Is it should work with Bitblt backend? In demo I see many usage of angel parameter for transformations. Do you think about "angel unit objects" like "90 degrees" or "2 radians" instead of raw numbers ? How #scaledBy: works with Point argument (self extend) and Float like (frame / 100 sin abs) at the same time? What' logic? [Pharo-project] Using Monticello

by blake

Separate of Seaside, I decided to try to figure out how Monticello is supposed to work so I could then report back on what's wrong in the Seaside Dev book and I came across this video from Ramon Leon on how to use Monticello. http://onsmalltalk.com/screencast-how-to-package-smalltalk-code-with-montic… ...and I get hung up in the exact same place! 1. I created a category called "AAA" and made a class called "AAA1" with a single method "someMethod". 2. I opened the Monticello browser. 3. I added the package "AAA" to the Monticello browser. 4. I browsed the package "AAA" from the Monticello browser, which was reassuring. 5. I added a repository, pointing to a local directory. 6. I clicked on "Add to package..." (argh, still seems like it should be "add package to...") 7. The "AAA" package is not there. Now, I subsequently checked "AAA" in the Package pane and the local dir in the repository pane and pressed "Save". That seemed to work! So I removed the class from the system browser, then went back to the repository, clicked Open, saw the "AAA" category, clicked that and the mcz file name--and it loaded just fine. But I'm worried because step 6 doesn't make any sense to me and doesn't seem to work for me like it does elsewhere. ====Blake===
