fernando now we should find a path to slowly changing the system to incorporate some of your changes. Because we cannot rewrite everything as you did (at least I cannot :)). Re: [Pharo-project] One-click Windows comment

by Ricardo Moran

There is no need for a .Ink or .bat in Windows. You can just point to the correct image in the .ini file so that users will only click on the .exe (which should be renamed to Pharo.exe, BTW). If I remember correctly, older versions of Pharo did it this way, why did it change? 2012/4/20 Gastón Dall' Oglio <gaston.dalloglio(a)gmail.com> > Sorry the typo, no /C, only start at beginning. > > El 20 de abril de 2012 08:52, Gastón Dall' Oglio < > gaston.dalloglio(a)gmail.com> escribió: > > Hi. >> >> Personally, I hate windows links :) The .bat can be have /C parameter for >> automatically close the open windows. [Pharo-project] strange logic

by Stéphane Ducasse

Hi I added a simple transcript into the following method. icon "Answer the receiver's icon. Handle legacy case of wording-based mechanism." |state| Transcript show: 'icon'; cr. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ self getStateSelector ifNil: [^super icon]. state := (MessageSend receiver: self target selector: self getStateSelector) valueWithEnoughArguments: self arguments . (state = true or: [state isString and: [(state beginsWith: '<yes>') or: [state beginsWith: '<on>']]]) ifTrue: [^self onIcon]. (state = false or: [state isString and: [(state beginsWith: '<no>') or: [state beginsWith: '<off>']]]) ifTrue: [^self offIcon]. ^super icon Then I brought up the monticello menu which has 4 toggleMenus and I got a lot and a lot and a lot of processing in the transcript It looks to me that there is a wrong logic in the system Stef

[Pharo-project] Late binding class names

by Sean P. DeNigris

How would I hook into the system, let's say during the execution of one particular method (and whatever methods it calls recursively), and substitute one Class for another, without effecting the rest of the system? For example: myMethod "Until I return, use MyOtherClass instead of MyClass, but only in this thread" MyClass doSomething. ThirdClass doSomethingElse. ThirdClass>>doSomethingElse "This use of MyClass will also be replaced with MyOtherClass" MyClass doAnotherThing. Thanks. Hi guys, Fortunately this error is reproducible: 1. Pharo 1.4 OneClick 2. rm any PharoDebug.log 3. start image 4. load Aida: Gofer new url: 'http://mc.aidaweb.si/Aida'; package: 'ConfigurationOfAida'; load. (Smalltalk at: #ConfigurationOfAida) load. 5. wait until Aida do a hourly snapshot at xx:00 6. quit 7. restart image After Ctrl-C in command prompt there is no new PharoDebug.log. I'm working on openSuse 12.1 (x86_64), kernel 3.1.9-1.4-desktop Hope this helps a bit Janko Dne 20. 04. 2012 19:04, piše Janko Mivšek: > Hi guys, > > Well, this bug is something you should finally find and solve ASAP, > because it certainly don't give a confidence to the Pharo for serious work. > > So, I just have again an image unresponsive to keyboard and mouse input. > Built from latest 1.4 OneClick.
