[Pharo-project] Redefine shortcuts

by Davide Varvello

Hi, Is it possible to redefine Pharo's shortcuts? I can't find where. I'd like to use "cmd-right arrow" and "cmd-left arrow" to go at the end and at the beginning of a line, but now they are mapped on window cycling. TIA -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Redefine-shortcuts-tp4595947p4595947.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

[Pharo-project] Anti-aliased rendering status?

by Martin Drautzburg

Hello all I noticed, that fonts are rendered anti-aliased, but a CircleMorph look pixelized. Then the Buttons in the Watery2 theme look anti-aliased, at least to me. How was that achieved? I also stumbeled across Morphic3, but it seems to be primarily a sound theory for anti-aliased rendering, rather than usable software, right? Anyways: is there currently some way to get rid of pixelized Morphs? -- Martin

Hi Francisco, please, open an issue in bug tracker with the fix in a changeset, and I'll integrate it as soon as possible (yeah... is burocratic, but the only way to keep a track of fixes ;) Esteban On Apr 29, 2012, at 2:15 AM, Francisco Garau wrote: > The below line in yellow fixes the issue - yupi!! > > How do I submit this? > > BallonMorph class >> string: str for: morph corner: cornerName > "Make up and return a balloon for morph. Re: [Pharo-project] FFI - passing string to function as char*

by S Krish

Perhaps using "long" to represent the string could work or using long* with the following hard coded manner to pass the string.. bytes := 'adsadsasdd' asByteArray. ea := ( ExternalAddress allocate: bytes size) . 1 to: bytes size do: [ :e | ( ea byteAt: e put: ( bytes at: e ) ]. out := ea asInteger. will try it out and let you know further.. but I guess it should work... null terminate if that is desired.. Re: [Pharo-project] [Fwd: Re: [Newbies] Remove trailing spaces of aString]

by Ben Coman

Ah. ha... Very Good. For the whole time I've used Pharo the last 12 months I've had a misconception about Examples. I thought they must have been Example coded somewhere like GLMBasicExamples, the MOEaselExamples and these somehow flagged for searching - and that I never got any results because of some lacking implementation. Here is some usability feedback then... 1. The help text in the bottom pane says "for further informations, print 'FinderUI methodFinderExplanation' ". Rather better would be when [Examples] is selected, that bottom pane is filled with "print 'FinderUI methodFinderExplanation". 2. The help text in the bottom pane says "In these four modes, you can also tick the 'Use RegEx' checkbox." might say "In the first four modes and sort [Examples] to appear at the bottom of the list. Actually that text is a carry over from when Pramgas was not an option and only the first three modes had RegEx. 3. The help text in the bottom pane says "The 'Select classes'...." and "The 'All classes'...." but the actual buttons are <Choose Packages> and <All packages> 4. Optional extra, while <Regexp> is selected, put some help text for regular expressions with examples in the bottom pane. I've logged http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5733 cheers -ben Benjamin wrote: > If you use Pharo, you can also do that > > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > > > Note that you have to change 'Selector' with 'Example', and then you can type a list of arguments separated by a dot and the expected result. > (If you want some inner details, it will do something like methodFor: {_WHAT_YOU_HAVE_ENTER_}) > > Have fun, > Ben > > > > On Apr 28, 2012, at 4:00 PM, Ben Coman wrote: > > >> I just discovered this new "bit of magic" from the Newbies list. [Pharo-project] FFI - passing string to function as char*

by recursive68＠gmail.com

I believe I have a solution of sorts, use a void* ptr for the argument type and create a method to use to nul-teminate any smalltalk strings passed as arguments. It seems to work ok, unless anyone can spot any problems with such an approach. Thanks

The below line in yellow fixes the issue - yupi!! How do I submit this? BallonMorph class >> string: str for: morph corner: cornerName "Make up and return a balloon for morph.
