[Pharo-project] Just a thought... debugging announcements

by Ben Coman

Just another passing thought to share before it passes me by... I understand the decoupling from Announcements is good, but I find it a little awkward to debug across them, since when an announcement is fired off the debugger doesn't follow it. I'm not sure I fully understand them, but I am assuming that the announcements are stored in some data structure which a system loop processes later on to deliver the event. I am wondering if when the Announcement is announced, it can check if this has occurred while in a debugger - and then tag the Announcement such that when processed by the system loop, a new debugger is then opened - perhaps as a new tab in the debugger window it came from. hope that makes sense, not sure whether its a good idea - just musing. cheers -ben

With blue, it render like that: For me it looks strange, but it's probably because I am used to the bold version :) By the way, a setting is a good thing :) Ben On Apr 30, 2012, at 8:59 PM, Mariano Martinez Peck wrote: > I also think bold is too much ;) > (sorry for not suggesting anything better) > > On Mon, Apr 30, 2012 at 7:03 PM, Francisco Garau <francisco.garau(a)gmail.com> wrote: > It is showing the class side methods in bold. I also think bold is too much ;) (sorry for not suggesting anything better) On Mon, Apr 30, 2012 at 7:03 PM, Francisco Garau <francisco.garau(a)gmail.com>wrote: > It is showing the class side methods in bold. Right! I don't really care if its bold/blue/blinking as long as it shows me that i'm in the class side. It's just that bold seems to be shouting at me ;) Haha, speaking of habits my muscle memory was so trained to OB that I'm still struggling with Nautilus ;) Super nice browser anyway! [Pharo-project] Questionn

by Santiago Bragagnolo

Hi all! I was chating with Guille, who's blaming me for make a refactor in sunit for pharo 1.4 instead of 2.0 and told me 'pharo 2.0 probably adds class layouts and slots'. Well, i'm with a concrete type inference project, i want to know what is made and who is in that part of the project to annoy and bore him with questions, 'cause probably i'll want to type the slots, but i need to understand the metaphor of the slots implementation. I want to understand too whats implication has the class layout over the types. Santiago.
