That a problem that right now you have to remove the inst var, add it higher in the hierarchy and recompile everything :s (which is done normally when you have changed the description) But allowing duplicated inst var may lead to java style issues :s I not really have better idea now ;s My 2 cents, Ben On May 3, 2012, at 2:03 PM, Marcus Denker wrote: > > On May 3, 2012, at 2:01 PM, Stéphane Ducasse wrote: > >> >> On May 2, 2012, at 2:12 PM, Marcus Denker wrote: >> >>> Issue 5738: do allow the same ivar in the hierarchy >>> http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5738 >> >> Do we really want to let the user define instance variables duplicated in the class hierarchy? >> I think that this is not really a good move. Does https://ci.lille.inria.fr/pharo/view/Pharo-Kernel%201.4/job/Pharo%20Kernel%… work for you on Mac? Re: [Pharo-project] Enable #alwaysOpenFullDebugger: and fastDragging:

by Sean P. DeNigris

Debugger alwaysOpenFullDebugger: true. +1... Great idea! I didn't even know that was a setting!! UITheme currentSettings fastDragging: true. -1... Let the default be visually satisfying and people on older systems can change the setting Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Enable-alwaysOpenFullDebugger-and-fastDragging-tp4605… Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

I get something similiar on osx, however the CWD is changed nevertheless... did you try doing an `ls` afterwards? It makes no sense for development. It takes you the double of time. What does the pre-debug brings you? nothing. If you want to proceed, then the debugger also has that option. If you want to abandon, you can just close the debugger. So, we should enable this. If someone wanst the pre-debugger fwindows for a reasons, then he should enable it. > > 2) Fast dragging. The normal dragging is slow in old machines and slow when there are lots of opened windows. "Can't even create. symlink on OS X" blocking on stdin is normal since most probably there is no data yet. If you run cog / stack vm from the command line you will be able to read stuff. However the default settings for stdin allows you only to receive full lines, not single characters.
