It was just a mapping of names to servesr so that one could use symbolic names for pre-defined servers. Quite strange. Marcus -- Marcus Denker -- http://marcusdenker.de

MCConfigurationBrowser seems to use it. If ServerDirectory does something that cannot be done with ZnClient, I am all ears. Sven

[Pharo-project] [5822] Directories browser cache stuff and not refreshing on host change

by Sebastian Sastre

Pharo image: 1.4 Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a pharo 1.4 image in a mac or win32 host 2. add a directory repository to any MC package, save and quit 3. open that image in a different host (linux for example) You'll be surprised the next time you try to add a MC directory repository. No easy way to refresh that cached content. http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5822 sebastian o/

We have about six different ways in Seaside how we look up implementation classes. Anything from writing them to a class variable to iterating over the subclasses and class extensions. It would be really nice if we could replace them with one approach. Cheers Philippe

[Pharo-project] FlatMessageListBrowser and class comments

by Mariano Martinez Peck

Hi guys. I don't like the fact that FlatMessageListBrowser is being used for more things than "messages". As an example, if you select a piece of text, right click -> method source with it, it uses this class. However, the resulted items are not all methods, but also class comments. What does it mean: 1) I needed to implement #category in RGCommentDefinition (see http://code.google.com/p/pharo/issues/detail?id=5821) 2) If you select a class comment, and then click the button senders, implementors or version, it breaks (because they do not make sense for class comments) 3) The class comment is displayed with shout, which is ugly and doesn't make sense 4) etc... So I guess in the future we should have an abstract class say FlatListBrowser with different concrete subclasses. The buttons, and the code pane should be adopted to what is being show (the results). I know this would take time, but I just wanted to express my opinion. Cheers -- Mariano http://marianopeck.wordpress.com

There is, the Hand does this when you drag a morph. (minus the scaling) Probably not very well factored/reusable though :) Cheers, Henry

[Pharo-project] ServerDirectory

by Camillo Bruni

how much do we still need ServerDirectory in 2.0? Isn't that almost fully included by Zn? ServerDirectory features a lot of references to FileDirectory hence I would like to nuke it :D

In the context menu of the workspace you have the option extended search... -> method source with it It's kinda hidden, but very helpful :). my first guess... Use the Finder and search the source code WorldMenu / Tools / Finder and change search mode to source code (note that it will take a while to search the whole image) best cami On 2012-05-07, at 10:27, Francisco Garau wrote: > Hi -- I am trying to find the methods who make reference to the thisContext pseudo variable. > > Any ideas how to get that list? > > - Francisco
