The basis (Pharo+Zn+Zdc) is there, I don't think these are major undertakings, but they can get stuck on some small seemingly insurmountable detail. Step 1 is to understand the specification and the foundation to start from. Looking at implementations in other languages helps. Yes, I've had a look at PHP and Ruby ones but I cannot at this moment dig more into it. > > Regards, > > Sven > > PS: Cédrick, I remember the OAuth (Dropbox) stuff that you were trying. I may start again if useful but I cannot at this time + CAS would be my priority now if I could :( <OT - killers apps ?> Just for background, if I experiment that, it's because in our university, they plan to set up a Numeric Environment (ENT in french). Based on uPortal, called E-Sup. I find it sucks :) + it's expensive to deploy and configure (around 30k⬠!!!). This is Java ! What's working now is only CAS+LDAP. If I had CAS in Pharo, I could develop applications say in Seaside that could be integrated in this environment. I think something like E-Sup (uPortal) could be a great project in Pharo but... this is a long one. Maybe ESUG ? ObjectFusion ? :-) For management in uni, they use OS app suite called Coktail (Scholarix and friends...) and these tools are developed in web objects (woa), the Apple no more supported framework ! This is also an opportunity to develop applications in Pharo because Coktail seems alone in this field (being open source) </OT> Cheers, Cédrick > > -- > Sven Van Caekenberghe > http://stfx.eu > Smalltalk is the Red Pill > > > > >

Is Fuel Package Loader supposed to append corresponding source to the changes file, when compiled methods are loaded via fuel? Shouldn't that be optional? This setup reminds me of .SLL files used in VSE (Visual Smalltalk Enterprise). You could start with a "frozen" base image, and on startup, load all your application code through .SLL "library units". (I can't remember whether or not you could dynamically link/unlink the .SLL packages; I think you could.)

You started with CloudforkSSO, "ported" it to Iliad and Aida (i.e. WebCloudSSO), and in future WebCloudSSO may merge back into CloudforkSSO. Was it just easier/faster to do it this way, rather than split the Seaside dependent parts out of CloudforkSSO? Is there any additional OpenID/OAuth functionality in WebCloudSSO, beyond what was in CloudforkSSO?

[Pharo-project] Nautilus small bug? report

by Fabrizio Perin

Hi, I'm using the latest Moose version and I noticed that the classes in the Nautilus browser are weirdly indented. I found that in some of my code classes and also, for instance, in Nutilus itself. In the attachment you see PluggableThreePhaseButtonMorph that is a subclass of ThreePhaseButtonMorph, but the nesting suggests that the class PluggableThreePhaseButtonMorph is a subclass of a subclass of ThreePhaseButtonMorph. Don't know if it is a bug or a wanted behaviour. I believe the first. Regards, Fabrizio

Whatever we decide, we'll need commitment from our community, esp. the key devs, to monitor the new venue with the same attention as this list. When I'm deep into the system, I'm reluctant to move my questions even to the Pharo Users list because there's only a handful of people that can answer and I don't know if they'll see them. -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Pharo-on-Stackexchange-tp4630271p4630305.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Apps can only be viewed for your profile (you have to sign in). So the URL would be: http://stackoverflow.com/users/apps/<your user id> +1 for SO Max On 15.05.2012, at 13:44, Camillo Bruni wrote: > too bad :) I like stuff to be cleaned up and separated... > > though stackoverflow isn't that bad either, and if you properly > define your preference tags it's almost like the mailing list ;) > > We simply have to stick to the proper tags: > pharo > pharo1.3 > pharo1.4 > pharo2.0 > > + maybe the concerning tool > > there are a couple of nice apps: > > http://stackoverflow.com/users/apps/174541 > > and I strongly vouch for using SO instead of this mailinglist for > all sorts of questions. the mailing list seems to be ok for discussions > (which many people enjoy here). > > > On 2012-05-15, at 13:30, Max Leske wrote: >> This is the request to merge / close the Pharo proposal: http://discuss.area51.stackexchange.com/questions/5273/pharo-is-a-developme… >> >> >> >> On 15.05.2012, at 13:25, Max Leske wrote: >> >>> >>> On 15.05.2012, at 13:18, Frank Shearar wrote: >>> >>>> On 15 May 2012 12:10, Marcus Denker <marcus.denker(a)inria.fr> wrote: >>>>> On Tue, May 15, 2012 at 10:38 AM, Camillo Bruni <camillobruni(a)gmail.com> wrote: >>>>>> With the dev mailing list slowly getting out of control ;) we should think of >>>>>> means of communication with the masses! >>>>>> >>>>>> I created stackexchange proposal which needs YOUR support: >>>>>> >>>>>> http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/40717/pharo?referrer=gXC4FWspxSud… >>>>>> >>>>>> we need now: >>>>>> - 60 Followers >>>>>> - 40 questions with some answers! >>>>>> >>>>> It seems that this will not work: someone is tagging all questions as >>>>> "can be asked on Stackoverflow" >>>>> and requests to close the area. >>>>> >>>>> So I think we will have to install our own thing instead. >>>> >>> >>> Ok, so should we make everyone go to SO from now on (providing the question is not a question for the list)?
