Re: [Pharo-project] STDIO on Win

by Esteban Lorenzano

Yes, the hack in 2.0 is just to allow us to run the tests on windows (and avoid complete break of image in the platform, as it has happened before), and is not intended to be there on release. The real issue, however, is not so easy to solve, but I hope we can find a solution sometime soon :) Esteban On Jul 2, 2012, at 8:42 PM, Torsten Bergmann wrote: > Unfortunately the discussion/actions stopped: > > http://forum.world.st/STDIO-on-Win-td4631056.html > > Any chance we can get VM support STDIO support > in Pharo 2.0 for Win32 also? > > The current hack in #standardIOStreamNamed:forWrite: > has some side effects (see issue #6236). > > Thx > T. > > > > > > > >

Unfortunately the discussion/actions stopped: http://forum.world.st/STDIO-on-Win-td4631056.html Any chance we can get VM support STDIO support in Pharo 2.0 for Win32 also? The current hack in #standardIOStreamNamed:forWrite: has some side effects (see issue #6236). Thx T.

Re: [Pharo-project] [Seaside] renggli mirror created on smalltalkhub

by Dale Henrichs

Between my laptop and office desktop I've probably got several years worth of package-caches lying around that can be mined. I'm on vacation this week, but if there are particular packages that are missing, let me know and I can see what I can do ... [Pharo-project] Solving the fact that http://source.lukas.renggli.ch/ is down

by Guillermo Polito

Hi guys! As some of you have already noted, http://source.lukas.renggli.ch/, host for various projects (magritte, pier, petitParser, hudson build tools, refactoring browser...), is down probably for some time. Now, since some projects there are very important, we've been thinking that probably it's good to move them to squeaksource3 or smalltalkhub (or maybe both :), why not?). We've set up a dropbox to put the mcz's and then upload them. If you have in your package cache some mcz's for any of those projects(or any other I did not mention), try joining the dropbox folder, or send me an email with your dropbox account so I give you access. - dropbox: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/u62484a02b9frea/-jn4FKHMjF Tx, Guille

Re: [Pharo-project] [ANN] Brltty support for Pharo

thierry may be you should announce that to esug Stef On Jul 2, 2012, at 10:52 AM, Goubier Thierry wrote: > Hi, > > I have created a project and release a start for connecting Pharo to Brltty, the software layer handling braille keyboards under Linux. There is some overall design to be done, because a braille keyboard is a fairly complex device (with input / tty keys, not a pure display device), even if my blind colleague is perfectly fine using it only as a display device and navigating with a normal keyboard. There will be a bit of Morphic adaptations to be done as well, such as keyboard navigation (it's not working very well at the moment in Pharo 1.3 and 1.4). > > I have the start of a proposal for funding, but I can't push this forward; I do believe an internship (L3/M1 in the french system) would probably be enough to get it to work. I do have a test setup : a user and two Braille keyboards with different characteristics. What if we remove the changes logging from SmalltalkImage and make it part of a ChangesLog object? I'm looking at some SystemChangeNotifier subscription ashes, and this could fix two things in one shot :)
