[Pharo-project] Paragraph, TextComposer, MultiCompositionScanner ... is there a backgrounder somewhere?

by phil＠highoctane.be

I have been spending a while on how text gets composited (I want a TextMorph and associated editor that works my way and has nothing to do with SmalltalkEditor). The point is to display/edit reasonably simple math equations. Of course, I am running into text composition at one point. I could display using various morphs instead but I want to do it this way since it also helps me with another project where text is the focus (and links etc). I have looked around quite a bit. Is there a backgrounder on those matters or am I to use the debugger for ages trying to grok it? TIA Phil

Thank you so much for the "Summer Release". It's really a pleasure to work with it and a great improvement over the first official 1.4 release. Hi, well.. the Author dialog never worked... you have to hit accept there... no alternative :) I could fix it or at least removing the cancel button, but I didn't remember the problem. Can you open an issue? so maybe for 1.4 winter or 2.0 we can have it... :) about the seaside issue... I just installed the Configurations Browser version and I didn't had any problem... what is you problem with the server? maybe you want to add a comanche server? in that case... you shouldn't :) pharo default server is Zinc, so you should use ZincServerAdaptor cheers, Esteban On Jul 18, 2012, at 9:25 PM, Lorenzo Schiavina wrote: > Hi Esteban, > > I tried the 1.4 version and I found a very small problem: in the Author Identification window of Help Browser the cancel button does not work. > I have had a second problem that, very likely, depends on me: after installing Seaside I was not able to start the server in the activation window; can you help me? > > Grazie > > Lorenzo > > Da: pharo-project-bounces(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr [mailto:pharo-project-bounces@lists.gforge.inria.fr] Per conto di Esteban Lorenzano > Inviato: mercoledì 18 luglio 2012 17.57 > A: Pharo-project(a)lists.gforge.inria.fr Development; A friendly place where any question about pharo is welcome; esug-list(a)lists.esug.org; Squeak Virtual Machine Development Discussion; Seaside - general discussion; clubSmalltalk(a)googlegroups.com > Oggetto: [Pharo-project] Pharo 1.4 "Summer" released! > > We are proud to announce the summer release of Pharo 1.4! > You can find information about Pharo at: http://www.pharo-project.org > > About this release. > > We integrated 30 fixes (the rounded number is completely casual) and integrated some tools that users feedback showed as necessary, specially the inclusion of OmniBrowser as part of the core for 1.4. I am no Linux expert and it has been a long time since I did anything with RedHat, but it seems there is a problem with having both 32 and 64 bit versions of the same library. On my machine, $ uname -a Linux ip-10-48-234-254 3.2.0-25-virtual #40-Ubuntu SMP Wed May 23 23:51:32 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux which is a proper 64 bit install, I once did apt-get install ia32-libs and now it looks like the normal libs are 64 bit and the 32 bit are the exception or add-on: $ ls /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl* /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.so.0.9.8 /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.so.1.0.0 But all this probably won't help much⦠BTW, the command to check linking dependencies is ldd $ ldd bin/CogVM linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb76e7000) libm.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libm.so.6 (0xb76b1000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libdl.so.2 (0xb76ac000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7691000) libc.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libc.so.6 (0xb74eb000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb76e8000) ubuntu@ip-10-48-234-254:~/pharo2$ ldd bin/libSqueakSSL.so linux-gate.so.1 => (0xb77bf000) libm.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libm.so.6 (0xb7783000) libdl.so.2 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libdl.so.2 (0xb777e000) libpthread.so.0 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libpthread.so.0 (0xb7763000) libssl.so.0.9.8 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libssl.so.0.9.8 (0xb7714000) libc.so.6 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/tls/i686/nosegneg/libc.so.6 (0xb756f000) /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0xb77c0000) libcrypto.so.0.9.8 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libcrypto.so.0.9.8 (0xb73f6000) libz.so.1 => /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libz.so.1 (0xb73e0000) I would expect these to give unresolved references on the jenkins machine. [Pharo-project] RE : [ANN] The Jejak Trace framework

by GOUBIER Thierry

Yes. It would be easy to do. How it would work as Jejak is now. Trace as it is, scan the trace with an AST visitor (or just the reference on all branches in the original code). Jejak provides: the probe writer for traces, an AST visitor to relate a trace event to the original source code, and trace visitors (for trace transformation and filtering). This means one could get branch coverage analysis, doesn't it? frank
