Re: [Pharo-project] Smalltalkhub news

yeah, i think it is pointless to retry if you get 404 "not found" response. Usually (of course if web server conforms to HTTP RFC), this means that requested resource is really not there and will not be there anytime soon :) On 16 September 2012 23:10, Camillo Bruni <camillobruni(a)gmail.com> wrote: > > On 2012-09-16, at 22:50, Sven Van Caekenberghe <sven(a)stfx.eu> wrote: > >> >> On 16 Sep 2012, at 21:56, Camillo Bruni <camillobruni(a)gmail.com> wrote: >> >>>> I am especially interested in the last point. Hi Hilaire, I bought a copy for iOS as well. What are the differences between the free and paying versions ? And yes, you need a Help button with things like an overlay showing the main functions, a short tutorial (anything is better than none), a couple of demo projects and links to your website for support. Peter, I really need to know what were your expectations during this frustration time, so I will have a very clear indication about what and how I should improve. Dmitry Golubovsky (Android) and Esteban Lorenzano (iPad) proved to be very reliable people to work with, they also have a good sense of human relationship. Thanks you guys. Now I hope, to see more Android and iPad Smalltalk Pharo applications. It will really consolidate our ecosystem. On the other hand, the ifFail functionality should trigger on any Error. We'll see. Thanks again for the help, you made Pharo faster by removing my explicit Delays ;-) Sven Sven Van Caekenberghe uploaded a new version of Zinc-HTTP to project Zinc HTTP Components: http://www.squeaksource.com/ZincHTTPComponents/Zinc-HTTP-SvenVanCaekenbergh… ==================== Summary ==================== Name: Zinc-HTTP-SvenVanCaekenberghe.301 Author: SvenVanCaekenberghe Time: 17 September 2012, 10:10:49 am UUID: 85632c09-a6c4-40e9-b29b-1c5e86d07ead Ancestors: Zinc-HTTP-SvenVanCaekenberghe.300 Fixed a bug where HTTPProgress notifications would trigger a retry. Thanks Camillo Bruni for finding this problem and suggesting a solution. Now, retries are only triggered by (NetworkError, ZnParseError), while the #ifFailBlock will be trigger on any Error. Furthermore, #noteRetrying: and noteIgnoringExceptionOnReusedConnection: will report on the actual exception. The default #ifFailBlock is now [ :exception | exception pass ] for some cleaner code. -- Sven Van Caekenberghe http://stfx.eu Smalltalk is the Red Pill
