Re: [Pharo-project] KeyChain/UsersManager

I think that we should remove the keyChain and it would be good that the system offers the right hooks so that keychain can be nicely added. Apparently ben add to provide a cs because some changes could not be applied via a slice. I planned to have a look but so far I did not find the time. Then persons in that group can commit to the project. Just mentioning that github seems to be doing quite fine with this model and when there is a clear need for a "non personal" account then orgs tend to register a github account and host stuff there, like for example "opscode": https://github.com/opscode ...now personally I really *like* the fact when things are "personal" since IMHO it means there is someone "taking responsibility". Shared responsibility is often no responsibility. regards, Göran

[Pharo-project] Pharo by Example book is top quality

by dimitris chloupis

I want to congratulate people responsible for Pharo by example book that I got from Amazon. At first I question myself for buying this since I already have the pdf but I wanted to support the community in my own way. Do some of the money go back to pharo ? I own loads of computer books but this one is just great, love the paper, the cover, the pictures are high quality even the size is optimal. I was expecting this to look cheap and I was pleasantly suprised since the 1 second I got in my hands. I am already 1 / 3 to it and still having loads of fun reading this. Keep up the great work. When I finish it I will add an amazon review though I dont think it will be anything else than a happy one.

Re: [Pharo-project] KeyChain/UsersManager

by Pavel Krivanek

It broke following Pharo Kernel jobs because the image crashes when a directory is changed. So how to fix that. We have several options: - make simple ugly fix that will check presence of this class, it will generate unimplemented calls - remove it and add it back fixed in 3.0 - rewrite the Author change mechanism to Announcements (in 3.0?) What do you propose? -- Pavel On Sat, Dec 15, 2012 at 3:01 PM, Esteban Lorenzano <estebanlm(a)gmail.com> wrote: > it was in the list of things to integrate :) > but we should check to clean the dependence, because is not good. > > Esteban > > On Dec 15, 2012, at 2:16 PM, Pavel Krivanek <pavel.krivanek(a)gmail.com> wrote: > >> Hi, >> >> what is the reason for integration of KeyChain/UsersManager to the image?
