Re: [Pharo-project] Where to get the VM?

by Camillo Bruni

if you guys would 10 seconds to read the jenkins configuration you would see that we use the COG vm wget --quiet -qO - http://pharo.gforge.inria.fr/ci/script/ciPharo20CogVM.sh | bash and most of the builds on https://ci.inria.fr/rmod use the NBCogVM wget --quiet -qO - http://pharo.gforge.inria.fr/ci/script/ciPharo20NBCogVM.sh | bash !!!!PLEASE BOOKMARK!!!! all vms are archived on the gforge, DO NOT USE JENKINS TO DOWNLOAD VMS... http://pharo.gforge.inria.fr/ci/vm/ they are all sorted by type and platform. Currently the PharoVM us not so stable. => stack, cog or nbcog are better choices On 2013-01-29, at 13:57, Alexandre Bergel <alexandre.bergel(a)me.com> wrote: > Hi! > > Where can I get the VM to run Pharo 2.0? > I have downloaded the last Pharo 2.0 image from Jenkins. There is a static file server now (http://pharo.gforge.inria.fr/ci/) for downloads so we don't overwork Jenkins :) You will see all the images and vms there, and the vms are labeled stack, cog, pharo (jit cog branded vm), etc. HTH, Sean -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Where-to-get-the-VM-tp4666146p4666149.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Re: [Pharo-project] Where to get the VM?

by Jan Vrany

Well, seems to be a common problem :-) There should be a single job, linked from pharo-project.org that contains night builds Pharo X.X with apropriate VM that one may pick at that should work (if not, its bug that should be fixed). For as a newcomer, I really don't know all the technical details, what works with what. Also, you should have somethink like ConfigurationOfPharo you refer from your ConfigurationOfWhatever for it is not clear which version of pharo to pick in order to use this or that. Just trying to load a see if it loads or not is not the most attractive way. [Pharo-project] Where to get the VM?

by Alexandre Bergel

Hi! Where can I get the VM to run Pharo 2.0? I have downloaded the last Pharo 2.0 image from Jenkins. Then I which VM should I pick? Cog Git Tracker is apparently the source I've tried PharoVM, but I cannot open the image. This is the minimal I guess we should have... Then I just realized that > > 'http://username@domain:1234/path?query_string#fragment_id' asZnUrl host = 'username@domain' > > I would have expected it to return only 'domain'. You are correct: username/password in URLs is not something that is supported by ZnUrl, by design actually. Why do you need it ? What would you do with it, expect to happen ? You can always do ZnClient new url: 'http://domain:1234/path?query_string#fragment_id'; username: 'username' password: 'password'; get. I guess it would not be impossible to extend ZnUrl, but it will make for an uglier object and parserâ¦. ZnUrl started life as a clone from WAUrl from Seaside, and they don't support that either. Where is the VM ? Why Athens is not properly packaged as it should be? I would like to work with athens, but currently I can't... I have an old VM, but apparently it is not compatible with recent source... [Pharo-project] Adding SCTP support to the VM/Network-Kernel

by Holger Hans Peter Freyther

Hi, I require SCTP support for my work. I have implemented very basic support in the unix version of the SocketPlugin[1], made modifications to the CMake generation, the VMMaker part of the SocketPlugin and the Network-Kernel. Basic manual testing shows that I can open a connection read/write using the normal and specialized selectors. The Smalltalk bits can be found here[2]. What is the process to get a feature like this integrated? Is there a precedence of emitting CMake rules to check for libraries/headers to be present? holger [1] https://gitorious.org/~zecke/cogvm/zeckes-cogvm/commit/24bb6fd2c16661373567… [2] http://smalltalkhub.com/#!/~hfreyther2/sctp/source

[Pharo-project] nativeboost google groups

by Torsten Bergmann

Hi Camillo, <just kidding> OK I now created a google group for mophic, I also created one for zinc, for filesystem and since it is now all there please stop using this mailinglist... </just kidding> Sorry - couldnt resist ;) But with your action on creating a google group for NB I'm now not sure if Igor and others continue to use the mailinglist here or the group you just created. This is what I meant with confusion ... Wouldnt it have been better to first discuss this here on the list if it is necessary to outsource and others feel the need to have a separate place to discuss NB deeper. >From my side I'm totally fine to keep it here - especially since most NB related discussions will influence Pharos direction anyway. As you know the separate issue tracker is historic - but I agree with you that we should discuss where to maintain NB issues now after that NB is integrated and part of the image. Thanks T.
