Only one question why the AllProtocol is a subclass of Protocol? As I understand it, AllProtocol shouldn't respond to addMethod: removeMethod: ... and it shouldn't even have a methods instance variable. Why don't make an AbstractProtocol with two subclass Protocol and VirtualProtocol and make AllProtocol a subclass of VirtualProtocol. Like this, in the future we could for example add a new SmartProtocol (subclass of VirtualProtocol) that automagically categorize methods given some predicate. > > https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/6757/ > > and after that execute this script: > > Smalltalk allClassesAndTraitsDo: [:c || org proOrg | > org := c theNonMetaClass organization. > proOrg := ClassOrganization importFrom: org. > c theNonMetaClass organization: proOrg. > > org := c theMetaClass organization. > proOrg := ClassOrganization importFrom: org. > c theMetaClass organization: proOrg ]. > > This is an important step not just to have a better class organizer (current is pre-existance of dictionaries... so... :P) Ah ok this is why it doesn't use Dictionary! I was wondering about the rationale behind the old organizer ;). > It is important also for the next step in RPackage stuff. > > Esteban > >

Help wanted! Test new class organizer.

by Esteban Lorenzano

Hi I finished the integration of the new class organizer, and I need people who can test it before integration. Please, merge the SLICE 6757 https://pharo.fogbugz.com/f/cases/6757/ and after that execute this script: Smalltalk allClassesAndTraitsDo: [:c || org proOrg | org := c theNonMetaClass organization. proOrg := ClassOrganization importFrom: org. c theNonMetaClass organization: proOrg. org := c theMetaClass organization. proOrg := ClassOrganization importFrom: org. c theMetaClass organization: proOrg ]. This is an important step not just to have a better class organizer (current is pre-existance of dictionaries... so... :P) It is important also for the next step in RPackage stuff. Esteban

Nautilus category filter

by Torsten Bergmann

Back in the days the Nautilus Browser had a "filter" text field directly above the category pane. One just had to click and enter the name and the list got filtered. With more and more packages coming into an image this was very usefull in Nautilus since it allowed to filter the displayed. The Test runner now provides such a filter to easily find a category. I know there are groups, I know there is "Find Package" in the menu. But the filter was really helpful and avoided endless scrolling to initially search a category. Is it still available? Maybe as a Nautilus plugin? Thx T.

Re: [Pharo-dev] [Pharo-project] Understanding NBOpenGL

by kilon

My code gl shaderSource_shader: shader count: 1 string: shaderString length: 0. must not be correct. I try to translate this glShaderSource(shader, 1, &strFileData, NULL); using the tutorial in here -> http://www.arcsynthesis.org/gltut/Basics/Tut01%20Making%20Shaders.html <http://www.arcsynthesis.org/gltut/Basics/Tut01%20Making%20Shaders.html> I made these assumptions here a) Nativeboost would take my string shaderString and pass its address to glShaderSource() b) that NB would automagically convert 0 to NULL are these assumptions correct and if yes why I am getting an "error during FFI call: NIL" if no, how I can pass the address of the string and how may I pass NULL as well ? as always you can get my code manually from the NBOpengl repo in smalltalk hub to take a look at the whole code. I have not added my code to ConfigurationOfNBOpenGL cause it does not work yet and its a WIP. -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Understanding-NBOpenGL-tp4686514p4695217.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

removing griddedPoint: from Morph

by Stéphane Ducasse

Hi guys I would like to remove griddedPoint: ungriddedPoint | griddingContext | self flag: #arNote. "Used by event handling - should transform to pasteUp for gridding" (griddingContext := self pasteUpMorph) ifNil: [^ ungriddedPoint]. ^ griddingContext gridPoint: ungriddedPoint pasteUpMorph "Answer the closest containing morph that is a PasteUp morph" ^ self ownerThatIsA: PasteUpMorph ownerThatIsA: aClass "Return the first enclosing morph that is a kind of aClass, or nil if none" ^ self firstOwnerSuchThat: [:m | m isKindOf: aClass] because it is not used and when we set it on it only works from Halo and I do not see why besides oh let us add this hack for kids fast. Maybe this would be a good time to jettison cruft i.e. don't implement > things until someone requests them ;) > Some important ones are still missing. I'd add them and then see which of the remaining ones we need
