Re: [Pharo-dev] SmalltalkHub upgrade!

by kilon

I really love what have you done with smalltalk hub. I dont think any other programming language has such a dedicated online repo as well designed as this. Of course there is github but its not quite the same as using a repo that has been created in your language of choice. The new features are definetly a step forward. I am curious is there an API that pharo can use to manage smalltalkhub ? By manage I mean to push, commit , pull etc Or ask smalltalkhub to search for a specific project and return its http adress and such things that we can already do from the browser. Keep up the amazing work. By the way hows Helios and the new amber debugger going ? -- View this message in context: http://forum.world.st/Pharo-dev-SmalltalkHub-upgrade-tp4696167p4696185.html Sent from the Pharo Smalltalk Developers mailing list archive at Nabble.com.

Re: [Pharo-dev] Metacello tutorial: ToolSet browse: ?!

by Dale K. Henrichs

Torsten, Does that work in Squeak? ... Metacello is not just for Pharo, so I do not have the freedom to leverage pharo-specific capabilities, nor do I have the cycles available to rewrite everything every 6 months ... I do accept contributions, so if you'd like to rewrite the tutorial in markup I'd be glad to include it in the pharo2.0 version of metacello when we finally get all of the functionality finished... Christophe has been very helpful in the port of Metacello to Pharo2.0 and we are very close to being able to release it ... we're just not there yet.. I cannot see how object spaces can solve the problem. The thing you describe sounds for me is just like starting a second image which is one way to use more than 4GB of RAM. I would also like to know exactly what you mean by 'Object Spaces'. Any references, articles ? Sven

Re: [Pharo-dev] Metacello tutorial: ToolSet browse: ?!

by Dale K. Henrichs

On further review ... that code was changed quite awhile ago to: Smalltalk tools browse: MetacelloTutorialConfig selector: #version01:. The tutorials have already been rewritten for Pharo2.0, but since the port isn't quite finished yet, the code hasn't made it into production... Sorry about the confusion.
