Re: [Pharo-dev] [Vm-dev] Pharo vm hangs on startup in XP SP3

by Esteban Lorenzano

Hi, I just tested: - open XP SP3 virtual machine - download windows app - open - play a bit, save everything works fine for me. Can you provide more information about the state of your system? (antivirus could be a problem, RO of the files too), whatever... essentially I cannot reproduce your case :) Esteban On Sep 8, 2013, at 1:02 AM, Hernán Morales Durand <hernan.morales(a)gmail.com> wrote: > Just to let you know the Pharo VM for the 2.0 Windows (http://files.pharo.org/platform/Pharo2.0-win.zip) hangs during startup with an uncaught exception in my old Windows XP SP3. by Hernán Morales Durand

Just to let you know the Pharo VM for the 2.0 Windows ( http://files.pharo.org/platform/Pharo2.0-win.zip) hangs during startup with an uncaught exception in my old Windows XP SP3. There is no .dmp or .log file generated. This is the error signature provided by Windows AppName: pharo.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: pharo.exe ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0004b73f and I have attached the SysInternals "File Monitor" Log. The "Moldable Debugger" Framework

by Andrei Vasile Chis

Hi, I'd like to announce the first version of the Moldable Debugger. It is a framework for creating and working with domain specific debuggers. It's integrated into Moose and it currently comes with three debuggers: one for announcements, one for PetitParser and one for Glamour. More information can be found here: * http://scg.unibe.ch/research/moldabledebugger* A video introducing the framework is here: *https://vimeo.com/73980431* (more are on the way) Cheers, Andrei

by Holger Kleinsorgen

The MCZ package can be downloaded & extracted. Loading the package in Pharo worked, too. The error response "asTimeStamp" looked like it could be related to the package information. So I stepped into the migration code and saw that version information of the loaded package had #date set to nil. MCVersionInfoWriter then writes an empty string into the package that is transferred to SmalltalkHub. SH doesn't seem to like that and returns 403 Forbidden (400 Bad Request would probably more suitable). I patched the migration code to add missing date information, and after that the migration succeded.
