### Here's what I've been up to since the last WhatsUp: pillar (http://www.smalltalkhub.com/#!/~Pier/Pillar) - book projects can now have a configuration that specify how they want to be generated (e.g., https://github.com/SquareBracketAssociates/PharoForTheEnterprise-english/bl…) - create a command-line interface with Ben. The idea is to be able to write: $ pillar --to=latex myfile.pier - Pharo Launcher: make sure the user can configure where to put his images (http://www.smalltalkhub.com/#!/~Pharo/PharoLauncher) Organise the Dyla workshop so that people can come and talk about dynamic programming languages. Plan your trip to Edinburgh: http://www.lifl.fr/dyla14/ Search for interns to work on Pharo ### What's next, until 2013-12-31 (*): Pharo Launcher : create an installer for Windows Pillar : finish the command-line handler, create an Ubuntu package and find someone to create a homebrew package. I also need to add a few more features. Finally, I must continue the development of the Emacs package (https://github.com/DamienCassou/pier-cl) holidays -- Damien Cassou http://damiencassou.seasidehosting.st "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm." Re: [Pharo-dev] [OT] Data structure visualizations

This is amazing. These visualizations, Breadth-First Search and Depth-First Search, are really cool. I use them all the time and learnt them from a compiler book, but in the book you cannot see things moving around :). 2013/12/18 Sebastian Sastre <sebastian(a)flowingconcept.com> > Making those visual doesn't look that bad huh? > > For the teachers and nerds in the room: > http://www.cs.usfca.edu/~galles/visualization/Algorithms.html > > > > > sebastian <https://about.me/sebastianconcept> > > o/ > > > > > >

So this change is quite safe I think. -- Damien Cassou http://damiencassou.seasidehosting.st "Success is the ability to go from one failure to another without losing enthusiasm." Winston Churchill

UDP Broadcast message

by jannik.laval

Hi guys, In Pharo, it is not possible to catch a UDP Broadcast message. Catching a UDP message is easy and works fine, but not when it is broadcasted (strange !) Does someone try that ? Could someone propose a solution ? Maybe with OSProcess or NativeBoost ? Thank you a lot. Jannik

Hi Doru, I have never used it till 2 days ago when I was playing with Andrei to do something. The only thing I can say is that it âfeelsâ strange at the beginning⦠I am not used to this horizontal navigation⦠I am more used to spawning a lot of small inspectors that I can also use to compare things, i.e., one inspector close to the other. Apart from that, Andrei told me it takes time but then you get used to it and you love it. Letâs see. gtinspector deconstructed

by Tudor Girba

Hi, I took a bit of time to describe how the GTInspector works, what makes it different, and to provide hints for several usage scenarios. http://www.humane-assessment.com/blog/the-moldable-gtinspector-deconstructed It's a long post, I know :), but please take a look. As you might know, this is the default inspector in the Moose image, but it can also be loaded in a fresh Pharo image. I am particularly interested in the following: - if you never used it, and tried it now, what don't you like? - if you used it, was there anything that you did not know? - and of course, what do you like about it?
