Hi guys I'm on holidays (no book no mooc no bugs just playing magic good music and hacking a bit) and I wanted to implemented a fun object that learn from Object by copying the methods. When I do ATProtozoid new instVarAt: 1 I get the following definition for instVarAt: instVarAt: t1 self error: 'Decompilation failed' but Object sourceCodeAt: #instVarAt: returns the correct string. Yes, the comments are bad. I have a TODO entry since ages to improve it, but there was always something more important to be done. I will put it on higher priority. why do I get error...when I try to find senders?

Hi I open playground or nautilus. I type compile:classified: and select the text and I press senders and I get a syntax error expected.... Just typing this mail now I cannot reproduce it. There is something wrong with the system. Stef

Compiler examples? comments?

Hi The class comment of the compiler is not useful. The compiler accepts Smalltalk source code and compiles it with respect to a given class. The user of the compiler supplies a context so that temporary variables are accessible during compilation. If there is an error, a requestor (usually a kind of StringHolderController) is sent the message notify:at:in: so that the error message can be displayed. If there is no error, then the result of compilation is a MethodNode, which is the root of a parse tree whose nodes are kinds of ParseNodes. The parse tree can be sent messages to (1) generate code for a CompiledMethod (this is done for compiling methods or evaluating expressions); (2) pretty-print the code (for formatting); or (3) produce a map from object code back to source code (used by debugger program-counter selection). See also Parser, Encoder, ParseNode. if I do not know how to invoke the compiler then I still have no clue. I still wonder why Pharolauncher is not Pharo.app yet. And I could not agree more with your post about apps. Stored Settings

Hello, I am learning how to better manage my processes. I have never messed with the settings much before. The defaults were generally fine. However, with some of my projects I am requiring fonts which are best satisfied by a font with a larger character set allowing for multiple languages. At the moment I am using Linux Libertine or Linux Biolinum. I would like to easily have these be the default fonts I use in the image. I opened a clean image, I made the setting changes. I then "Store Settings". I then opened a new clean image and "Load Settings". It claims that the Linux Libertine is the new font but it is not so.
