Actually the WIndows VM use to lie, might still, if you opened a file READ/WRITE but it was read only, like on a CD, then the windows VM would say SURE no problem. This caused grief for macintosh users using one- click apps on a CD because we would cause a walkback saying we couldn't open the file READ/WRITE. The *fix* in etoys was to alter the file open (read/write) and silently fall back to saying oops try again (read-only) if it fails. Versus fixing all the places where you opened a file for reading, but as read/write (by default). Hi Mariano, I just tried it with a newly downloaded pharo1.0-10451-BETAdev09.09.3 and it worked in all lists of the TestRunner. See screenshots below. Hi John, slightly OT but do you know if you can give arbitrary mathematica syntax to wolfram Alpha? i was trying to use its functional programming model but it tends to ignore my syntax and get confused. looks good to me... but then i would say that! The method properties tests are now wrong, because they perform their assertions on the AdditionalMethodState without knowing it. We could either look to rewrite the tests to provide some test coverage for the new class, or just delete them. I haven't looked at the highlighting tests in depth but i know there is more work required there. it's quite tricky, not for 1.0. I think the ability to recompile the system and run the 7000 odd tests should give us some confidence. Obviously some wider review would be good. cheers, Mike

you could also look at the baseline test result scripts i wrote for publishing to the Pharo wiki. They write it out in Google wiki format, but it could be adapted for simple email use. hey that's cool. the 2 unexpected passes should be closure tests. they basically prove the integration from what i can tell since they were marked as expected failures. The decompiler tests fail a lot, but we can work away at that for 1.1 1.2 etc. It looks quite a big job from what Eliot tells me. Shows how important test coverage is!!
