[Pharo-project] Issue # 1498 "Collections should not accept non integer indexes"

I'm trying to follow the directions given at: http://code.google.com/p/pharo/wiki/HowToContribute. However, after the SLICE asks for the first comment, it freezes the image and the small window "Writing definitions" stays at 50% progress and nothing happens then. So I'll resort to the alternative plan, which is to send the changeset to this list. On a core image update #11067 the Collection tests are all green. Running all tests show one error and two failures not related to the changed methods. -- Cesar Rabak

Try in an image where no O2 is loaded, because loading O2 changes the behavior of the other browsers even when O2 is not selected as the default. I have just tried in OBSystemBrowserAdaptor, O2SystemBrowserAdaptor and O2PackageBrowserAdaptor and in all of them I have the same problem. Can you please try to reproduce with OmniBrowser, because this seems to be related to O2. I use "Extract Method" all the time and it works for me. To reproduce: 1) Select the piece of code to extract 2) Right button -> "refactor source" -> "extract method" 3) Select a name and press enter. Then you will raise the exception MessageNotUnderstood: RBParser>>initializeParserWith:type: I a tested in PharoCore-1.1-11053-ALPHA and pharo1.0-10496-rc1dev09.11.5 (using the default browser). [Pharo-project] Problem with streams and files :(

Hi folks! I know very little about streams and files, so maybe is quite stupid my problem. Try to evaluate this code: |segment| segment := ImageSegment new. segment copyFromRoots: (Array with: 'something') sizeHint: 100000 areUnique: true. segment segmentName: 'segmenttest'. (ImageSegment segmentDirectory newFileNamed: 'whatever') nextPutAll: segment segment. You will raise the error: "Improper store into indexable object" So, I am using a MultiByteFileStream and I am trying to write a WordArrayForSegment. I don't understand MultiByteFileStream>>nextPut: aCharacter because it does: nextPut: aCharacter aCharacter isInteger ifTrue: [^ super nextPut: aCharacter]. xxxx....xxxxx And super is MultiByteFileStream >> nextPut: aChar which does buffer1 at: 1 put: char. But here, char is not a char, but 1929386344 which is a LargePositiveInteger and then, of course, it fails when it does buffer1 at: 1 put: char. So, does someone have an idea of what can be wrong ?
