I got it once last night, on Windows 7 RC1, updating the core image from 11080 to 11082(or3). There was a primitive failure mentioned in the error dialog, I stupidly closed the message to examine the log, but none had been written :/ Tried updating the same image 3 times after that, and got no crashes... [Pharo-project] Strange memory consumption display under XP ...

Hi folks! Pharo 1.0 (latest version), typing around i was watching memory consumption in Windows Task Manager under XP, when suddenly memory consumption of Pharo.exe dropped down to 1.650k ... from normally 22.000k ... that happened 2 times yesterday. Not really reproducable, i think. Is it possible, that the application itself measures memory consumption itself and sends this information to Windows Task Manager? In this case ... there must be a little bug in the VM. tnx, keep up the good work! regards, Guido Stepken

[Pharo-project] [update 1.1] #11084 SharedQueue2 becomes SharedQueue

Issue 1521: SharedQueue2 ---------------------------------------- So this update replaces SharedQueue by the SharedQueue2 implementation. SharedQueue was quite buggy, SharedQueue2 was implemented by Lex Spoon years ago. It's simpler (68 instead of 175 lines of code). It's implemented using Monitors (which were done by Nathanael Schaerli) and far easier to understand than the old implementation. SharedQueue2 was living in the Squeak bugtracker for years, I added it at some point to Squeak (or Pharo?). The event rewrite of Michael used SharedQueue2, and some updates ago 1.1 moved all clients of sharequeue to SharedQueue2. This update is therefore just a rename + cleanup. Nevertheless, if you use SharedQueue, please carefully check if this change has no ill effect. Marcus

[Pharo-project] Updating problems solved ...

Hi folks! I reinstalled the newest "Ready Made Setup" ... that finally worked fine. Network interrupts (by provider) during download of update packages caused that problems. I had lots of "inner" inconsistencies in the image, obviously ... Should be easy to reproduce. tnx, keep up the good work! regards, Guido Stepken
