[Ann] New deprecations API

Following the release of *BPatterns <https://github.com/dionisiydk/BPatterns>*, I am happy to share another idea that naturally grows out of it: *simplifying deprecations in Pharo*. Todayâs deprecations are powerful but verboseâstring-based rewrite rules, duplicated selectors, and boilerplate that most of us copy from examples. With BPatterns, all of this can be eliminated: Object>>confirm: queryString ^ self *deprecatedBy: * [ ConfirmationRequest signal: queryString ] Deprecation is now expressed in the same language as the code itself, not in a separate, string-based mini-language. There is no need to think about transformation rulesâthey are part of the system and enabled by default. Zero boilerplate. Sure, tonight Simba installed a virtual keyboard and mouse control on my headless Ubuntu server which is running a virtual screen for Squeak so it could respond to defeating a does not understand error at startup time, then it opened a workspace and filed in a patch, saved the image & restart. How to improve sharpiness of fonts

Hi guys Happy new year! I would like to share with you a need. I have different screens of different DPI and my view is not getting better. Now on retina the fonts are either too small (zoom 100) or too large (150) so I end up having blurry fonts. I would like to know if the situation could be improved with font that have a larger spectrum of sizes. May be using the fonts of the OS could help too. Any idea and help is welcome. S

Hi John - it sounds like we should sign you up for a future UKST session as there seems to be enough different to warrant a session in its own right. Certainly the implications of LLM's on all programming environments are not going away and we all need to understand how to leverage the best bits. Well seems there are other offerings https://github.com/mumez/pharo-smalltalk-interop-mcp-server A shift in how developers think has to occur, Write me a class that I can use to dump all the stacks that arenât housekeeping ones based on a file being touched. Or examine how random numbers are made and the which algorithm is being used. Also identify non cryptography safe usages in the system and why. Look at the network class, identify any race conditions, suggest how to ensure it is green thread safe, give me a new class. -> it suggested worker queues, read/writer processâ¦ Iâm using stdin/stdout each LLM session spins up a squeak/Cuis VM change file /dev/null to avoid conflicts but image shouldnât be altered on disk anyway. Oh and take this MQTT v3.1.1 Smalltalk implementation give me a V5. That took 45 minutes, will release in a few weeks. Ya SIGUSR1 .... John M. McIntosh.
