If it is a replacement to MCDefinition and all, then it must handle non-active methods. If it models the live system as well, then it must answers compiledMethod. I would choose return nil or return an exception. Third one could be interesting in some contexts... running packages without loading them. But would be hard to do correctly. Thierry > > > > >

Would be cool if from Pharo launcher you could specify the configuration that you want to work with and a version of faro, then it would download an image, load there a configuration, and put loaded packages into a work group. Nautilus and Work group

Nautilus in Pharo 5 now includes per default a group "Configuration" and "Work". But one has to manually put new work into the "Work" group. Would it make sense to put newly created packages automagically into this group as typically one is working on them?

Returning nil might be goodâ¦ because non-active ones model methods that are not installed and have no compiled method. But then, the problem is that we use non active Ring definitions as a replacement of what was MethodReferenceâ¦ so we need to check if that breaks anything. Another thing we need to check is all uses of Ring: e.g. SystemNavigation. Do we need Ring there? In general, we need to do another pass over Ring in the context of the remote development project. Stability of configurations

I would like to know your opinion on the following issue: Some supposedly stable published configurations are not loading properly. I read once Stef or someone else commented about validating configurations. I agree completely with such idea because guarantees quality. For example I tried to load Chalten stable (.13) in Pharo 4 and a modal window display this message: This package depends on the following classes: MinusInfinityClassTest ArithmeticObjectIntervalTest InfinityClassTest You must resolve these dependencies before you will be able to load these definitions: testAsTimeSpan testDaysMeasure testDaysMeasure So, the package is stable but not its configuration? Is this issue on the table for Pharo 5? HernÃ¡n
