There is a confusion between "packaging" and "source management". Most "popular" languages have their own packaging system, in Ruby it is gem, in Node.js it is npm, Python has several. The closest to a package managment we have is Metacello with the MetaRepo. A different thing is the code management of those packages, and here it is where GitHub appears. Look for instance <https://rubygems.org/gems/json>, at at the same page the source code (and its website, docs, and other stuff) points to http://flori.github.com/json/ (GitHub). The same goes for Node, the Express package in npm <https://www.npmjs.com/package/express> hosts its code at <https://github.com/strongloop/express> We use the same thing for everything, when maybe we shouldn't. This ensures single-threading with only one thread executing a stack as it schedules to activity. A vat is conceptually a stack and a queue. This is an executing stack of immediate calls and a queue of eventual sends that will be scheduled into the stack as evaluates. When you have a farReference to an object in a different vat, then you need to serialize the graph of arguments sent to the remote object with an eventual send: to queue the send in the remote vat, pending evaluation as a stack. When a graph is serialized, any PassByProxy objects sent as an argument to a remote method evaluation must be substituted on serialization with a descriptor describing the export of that far reference. This descriptor substitution is not a Fuel migration between versions of one object class nor is it a Fuel substitution, which replaces a subset of ivars, it is a true substitution, a descriptor of class FarDescriptor replaced for an arbitrary PasssByProxy object...let's say Customer <name, age, lastFourSSN>. My thoughts in the VM are to add a pool to the stack and the queue of an event-loop. For processes/continuations what are waiting for a signal, they are not scheduled into the queue. How to get Pharo into Ubuntu Software center

Hi, in Ubuntu one can click on a link with apt:// protocol to easily install a piece of software right from a webpage: <a class="apt" href="apt://chromium-browser">Install Now</a> It just opens a link to the Software center with the software preselected. Unfortunately Pharo is not part of the Software center :( Can we improve this situation? What is necessary so that Pharo (or ideally the Pharo launcher) gets directly added to the Software center and we just need a link on the webpage? Just want to understand if it is a technical or time issue. Thanks T.

We will at least keep it for Synectique in order to have a widget with an action button for now. I don't think you want an action button to be integrated inside the FTTableMorph ? When we will integrate the next configuration of FT into Pharo I will remove it from the FastTable package.
