[Pharo4] Slots can now be saved with MC

Hi, After some searching for a solutionâ¦ that does not break backward-compatibility, I found a way to save classes that use slots. - if a class just uses ivar Slots, it saves it 100% backward compatible (e.g. loadable in other systems) - if a class uses a special slot or class var, it saves the definition of the slot as the variable name in the monticello model. - on load it checks if there is a space in a variable name, and if yes â> decode these as Slot/Global var definions. - the code path for non-Slot classes stays largely untouched. This is not beautiful but backward compatibleâ¦ you can even load classes with Slots in Pharo3, it then creates invalid ivar names, which of course means the code does not run but it is readable. e.g. create a class like Object subclass: #A slots: { #iv => TestSlot } classVariables: { } category: 'Playgroundâ (TestSlot is a slot that does not use up space in the instance and instead saves the state in the Slot object, which means all instances share the state. Just a small example) Limitations -> no support for class variables yet -> class instance variables not yet done, either -> nut used much, for sure there will be bugs This is in 4.0 438 Marcus

TextMorph broken?

Hi, I hate to bring this up, but it seems that TextMorph is broken: (1) The width of a TextMorph cannot be changed directly, only resetting the content (via #contents:) changes its width. (2) It's not possible to position the cursor past the last character with a point and click operation. (3) Moving the cursor past the last character with the arrow keys makes it disappear (even though it is positioned correctly). (4) It's not possible to change the font in the meta-menu. Is anyone else having similar problems? Any recommendations? All I need is a single line TextMorph that matches its width with the width of its text. I am using Pharo 3.0 (the most recent official version retrievable via the website). '(\w+s*){1, 3}' asRegex - image locks up in Pharo 3 & 4

Hi - In a workspace, if you inspect (or print, doIt, ... ) the following: '(\w+s*){1,3}'' asRegex The image will enter into a loop that the Cmd+. can't break out of. '(\w\s){1,3}' asRegex does not lock up the image. Including just one + or * causes the infinite loop when using a quantifier (the {} part). Does anyone know enough about how the Regex parts of the system to know where to look to fix it? Thanks Paul

PettitParser and Python

Hello guys I am learning PettitParser , I dowloaded the video tutorials of Tudor Girba (very good tutorial Tudor , well done ) and other documentation and I was wondering if a parser for Python already exists . I hope I am not asking something obvious. For my project I want to parse python types , that will be given to me as strings , to pharo objects. So that means parsing lists, dictionaries and other usual candidates. For example a python list is like '[1, 3, 50, [45, 'hello', 0.2], 63]' etc Anyone already worked on such problem ?
