With NativeBoost, you can easily do this in OS X with "NBMacShell run: 'open ', aUrl asString". What's a dependable way to launch the default browser on other platforms? On Windows? Just to add... looking back (I wasn't there at the time) when Pharo forked from Squeak, it seems "cleaning" and "innovating" were two significant points you wanted differentiate from Squeak for Smalltalker insiders. Now a few years on, that is probably firmly established and you can start targeting the market beyond Smalltalk insiders. Some feedback on the Pharo 3.0 Release welcome text. --- From watching the Ruby conference video from another recent thread, use of the word "immersive" really caught my attention. As well, from another recent thread, newcomers probably don't care if its Smalltalk - either actual or inspired. So lets sell the strongest outside marketing message first... [ANN] FFI for ARM

Iâve published an alpha version of an FFI for the ARM architecture. It is in the class ThreadedARMFFIPlugin in the VMMaker.oscog package on source.squeak.org. The generated sources are also available at http://squeakvm.org/svn/squeak/branches/Cog/src/plugins/SqueakFFIPrims/ARM3… It passes all existing FFI tests and all tests I used for development. I plan to commit my development tests to the FFI-Tests package within the next few days. These extra tests are important because existing tests donât exercise some of the trickier cases choosing between registers and stack when marshaling function parameters. So far, the ARM FFI has only been tested with the Cog/Stack VM on a Raspberry Pi. I plan to also test it on the BeagleBone Black which has a slightly different ARM chip. The overwhelming majority of the credit for this must go to Eliot Miranda because his FFI design works so well, and because he helped me immensely along the way. Oauth without callbacks question

Hi guys, I am trying to use OAuth (as a client) to a OAuth server in which the callbacks are a bit messy. So for the moment, assume I cannot specify a callback. So the only option I have right now (this is a prototype anyway) is to copy and paste the "verifier" so that I can later get the access token. I am basing my code in Sven's great Seaside demo. However, and here is the problem, he does this to go to the authentication page: self requestContext redirectTo: (self oauthService loginUrlFor: requestToken) ; respond. What happens here in my app, is that the browser redirects of course to the OAuth authorization server where I finally can see the verifier code. But...say I have to enter this code in my app...there is no way (as far as I understand) to map it to the (previously stored somewhere) request token. So I don't know which request token to use. So I think the only option is that the above redirect in fact opens another tab in the browser and that my seaside apps holds into the current request token.
